Hi Bex I have Fibromyalgia and I am the same isolated, in pain every day worse in the morning. It's amazing until you become ill you don't realise how many people have the same things so it helps in here to share your thoughts or ask questions just so you know you're not going mad. I can't drive now can't do housework and pretty much rely on my husband for everything but there is a stubborn side of me that comes and I try really hard to things and then can't move in agony sobbing in the bath or when no-one is there. Keep posting and I am sure it may help and someone might know something you need to know be it different kinds of pain relief or what benefits there are. I have to do this for the first time in my life and I'm terrified but it helps to have an outlet so just get it off your chest here. Xx

Hi Hidden

I think most people with Fibromyalgia or ME can empathsises with you and understand to how you feel both physically and mentally, I know I do on a personal level.

I wondered if you have got optimal treatment or had any bloods taken recently as my first initial issues with a marked deterioration was a partly due to a Vitamin D, Folic Acid and B12 deficiency. These do tend to make the symptoms a little worse, obviously I am not implying you can take vitamins and all will be fine but if this is having an impact then it may just make the bad times a little easier.

Have you looked into what medication and other therapies you might be able to try or have you tried all that is to offer for Fibromyalgia. Here's some information from Patient.UK who have the Independent Standard mark about medications and therapies for Fibromyalgia. It is considered that Fibromyalgia a combined approach is the best way to alleviate the symptoms of this condition including medications, gentle exercise, hydrotherapy, relaxation, stretching etc.

I hope this information helps :)

Hi Emma,

Yes weirdly I was deficient in Vit D and had just lost my Grandfather who was more like my dad I looked after him for a good few years - he had vascular dementia - with my husband as well as working fulltime and 4 rescue dogs. Both my kids left home and emigrated to Oz and then my Auntie died of cancer in January she was 53. I didn't feel like I could move, got a shooting pain in my neck and I couldn't move it then my arms were agony and gradually I have just come to a standstill.

I am currently undergoing tests and so far have Cervical Spondylosis, Fibro and I reckon some form of arthritis my bones hurt. My muscles are wasted also so I have an op on Friday for my spine and arm to block the nerves and cut them and work on my facet joints at the top of my neck and the electric needles probe and a biopsy of my muscles next week or week after.

I am on pregabalin, Naproxen, Tramadol and cocodamol but my doctor has now stopped this even though it helped me.

I am about to approach retiring from work at 47 and I am terrified. I have joined a website where they help you apply in the right way to not be fobbed off.

At this point exercise is out of the question, I can barely move and have to use a stick to go to hospital and docs. But I am planning to try and follow a more holistic approach once I can get my head around everything.

Thank you for messaging me, it makes me cry and feel glad all at the same time that you have taken the time out to write to me because I feel pretty worthless and anonymous at the moment after being a manager and worked for the same company for 17 years.

I really appreciate you speaking to me. I am up most nights very late till about 4am because I can't face the day when my husband works nights I am so alone. He was redundant for a year and has managed to get a partime job recently so he can look after me as I have been put on half wages since March.

You take care too and if there is anything I can help you with, let me know.

xxxxxx
