ive been told gentle exercise may help but saying that i know from personal experience i have always been very active running swimming circuit training metafit now i struggle to walk i have been swimming few times hard im going to try hot yoga tonight as heat eases my pain plus im always cold hopefully i will be able to do the class i only recently been diagnosed so im still learning to be honest through other people and sites like this as far as i know its chronic and wont get better you will have bad days very bad days and some good days as for the pain i know there is different types of painkillers to try but even then they dont take pain away just the edge of it.

its really is a cruel illness some people just do not understand

I understand your frustration and being told it will get better holds no meaning for me anymore. I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia for about a year now and due to my young age, I constantly meet obstacles from medical professionals. For many years I was told it was all in my head. Although exercise can help in some cases I haven't found that to be the case for me. I was really active before and now getting through the day is hard. Talking to someone can help to relive the burden but if they don't understand the illness itself they will never be able to relate. My advice to you is to not expect a miracle. Yes things might get a little easier but remember this is a life long illness.

Thanks for that.it's only been a few months but things have not got better.feel like its getting worse.exercise makes it so much worse.pain killers only scratching the surface.to make things worse think IBS has kicked in.my wife has been great but still think she begrudge me being no help around the house.trying my best!!!!!

The IBS can be hard but it is manageable compared to the pain. At the moment for me I find a combination of co-codamol and ibuprofen is working as unfortunately I built up a tolerance to paracetamol. There are other things you can try but they bed to be prescribed by the doctor so it may be worth asking about this. And for the IBS just keep a look out for foods that make you feel ill and form a suitable diet from that. Personally a paleo diet works best for me as I have trouble with gluten. Hope this helps 😊

Thanks again, have started a food diary to see what kicks it off.will see how that goes over the next few weeks.will look at the paleo diet.

Cheers hope you have a good day.😀
