Sweating

In the last few years i have started to sweat a lot while just doing the meaningless tasks. Even after a short walk to the shops i need to dry myself off with a towel and change my top. The sweating all comes from my head. It's getting really embarrassing now :-( Anybody else suffer like this??

Hi, Yeh I have the same although my whole body is wet and clammy. I have been to docs numerous times and even had HRT which didn't help, now he has prescribed a new med which has to be made up specially which puts me off. I totally sympathise with you xx

I feel your pain USA...for me it's the embarrassment of it and then my doctor telling me that i'm just unfit. I'm 6ft and 14 stone and not an ounce of fat on me. Plus i cant exercise because i just sweat too much. I'm 45yrs old and never sweated like this even when working as a plasterer for years.

I was having a lot of problems with night sweats and I was just dripping! My GP anted to avoid hrt and suggested high doses of evening primrose oil. I take 1500 every evening and for me that works and now don't have a problem. Just recently started taking every 2 days instead of daily and still working.

Hi Kimble, I don't know if this information will still be useful. What you have sounds like cranio facial hyperhydrosis. I initially only used to have it in the summer but now it's throughout the year and worse in winter. The sweat comes from the scalp and forehead. It's really embarrassing for me as if fibro wasn't enough. I have tried several meds, some with horrible side effects. I've tried natural remedies like Sage, Melissa and Rhemannia and nothing works.

I'm thinking of trying Botox as my last resort but it's unavailable on the nhs.

So I had the same problem and I downloaded the book Wheat Belly and going Gluten/Wheat Free and following the book cured me. I had the problem for years tried all the meds, carried a towel, would break out into bad sweats all the time, it was horrible. Now I eat all the fish, chicken, meat, cheese, nuts and veggies I want ...I Drink Red Wine and life is good.... Oh and I'm off all my Diabetic meds and my cholesterol went from 270 to 150 in 6 months! The best part is no more sweating. I would say I'm 95% better and I'm just getting started.

Good luck

It can also be a side effect of certain meds prescribed commonly for fibro.
