Hello all, I saw EP today and we have scheduled my ablation for 3/25. He actually said my holter monitor results showed atrial tachycardia rather than atrial fib. Guess we will find out for sure when they go in to check. Has anyone ever had atrial tach??
Atrial tachycardia???: Hello all, I saw... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Atrial tachycardia???
Are they doing an EP Study with the possible ablation? The EP Study is were they will insert many leads into the probable areas causing the tach and then try to "tickle" your heart to cause it to happen. If they can find the right area then they use the ablationto stop it from happening. For standard AF they usually do not perform the EP Study because it normally does not help locate the area causing the problem.
Good Luck with your ablation. Try not to stress over it. You just go to sleep and then wake up and it's over.

Wow thanks TIM!! U are right. That is exactly what he said. He even said if its tachycardia that it will be an easy fix. I'm prying it is. Thanks for the encouragement.
Yes, they just need to get your levels for the Anesthesiologist so they know how much of what to give you and not over medicate you. And I don't remember, Are you on a blood thinner? They may be checking your INR.
Yes that procedure is a better chance of curing it because they can hopefully see exactly where the signal is coming from and scar that exact area. With AF there is just a known area and they have to scar the entire area and then they may have to go back and do more.
Will be keeping an eye on here... Keep us updated and ask what you'd like because I just went through it (the ablation part anyway.
And will be praying for it to be successful.

Good luck I'm still trying to find a ep in Canada
Good Luck Tim.will be thinking bout you, and hope to hear about it all later.Ann
