Lucky you. Magnesium Taurate has been recommended by Dr Gupta of York Cardiology so we know it is good. Do be careful about taking supplements though as they are not always compatible with other mediciation and always best to discuss with your doctor of pharmacist.

Wonderful, very pleased for you! Husband takes similar here (and lots more as also got heart failure) although yet to start the taurine already in the cupboard so a great reminder, thank you.

I think those supplements (individual dosage will depend on the individual) are indeed important.

I took Nutri MegaMag Muscleze (see ingredients) and CoQ10 for many years of AF free life, recommended to me by a high profile London Naturopath. Latterly I decreased these and arrhythmias have crept back in, so I have currently increased my CoQ10 from 100 mgs to 200mgs/day and your post has been a good memory jog to try going back to the above Nutri supplement as well. The medics are closing in on me to do an ablation 😆.

Hi secondtry, what brand of coq10 do you take.

make sure in your next blood work you ask to check the levels of CoQ10 magnesium and vitd3 to ensure your levels are in normal range. I checked mine and was deficient in all 3 and began supplementing but check those blood levels once a year as too much supplementing magnesium can also cause arrhythmias

Same here... started taurine and l-arginine last July and my persistent a fib is almost gone according to my fitbit. Don't know whether the tabs did it or my weight loss due to cutting down on alcohol. I told nurse and she gave me the usual answer... it's not curable. so now I just say I think it's in remission and they seem happier with that as it agrees with their world view. Also I take magnesium supplements so it could be that. Seeing the doctor next week and I'll discuss.

I get the taurine from a company called Life Extension and l-arginine from from Piping Rock USA. Just to reiterate that the supplements seemed to work for me - seemed to be the important word. It could just be a coincidence. I have also lost weight due to cutting drastically back on alcohol and also I have been taking magnesium taurate. I did get an x-ray on my heart and a echocardiagram and there is no structural problems. I read The Afib Cure book and they write that a weight reduction programme by an Australian electrocardiologist Dr Prash Sanders has proven to give good results with 43% of his patients reducing or putting their afib into remission so there is positive news out there. Google his name to get details of the study. I believe some of them were able to come off the meds but I don't think I would risk that. Belt and braces etc.

I have a history of taking PPI's for long periods (which is definitely not recommended) and these stop the absorption of minerals including magnesium so that's why I am taking magnesium taurate so it might be that as magnesium depletion can take months to rectify. Hope this helps.
