12 days after ablation

I had a PF ablation 12 days agoWhen I take my pulse with my fingers it feels slow and regular with a few missed beats ( ectopic? )

When I use a basic wrist heart monitor it always says it is irregular

I take Xaralto 20mg ,Flecanide 150mg and Forxiga 10mg .

At the end of the month my cardiologist told me to stop taking Flecanide if I had not had any Afib episodes

My question is , do ectopic heartbeats count as an episode ?

I am totally unaware of them unless I feel my pulse

Thank you for any advice on this one

Ectopics are not AF.

Thanks BobDI didn't think so but should I stop Flecanide while I have ectopic beats ?

Are you sure, Bob - in the sense that matters? Atrial ectopics can lead to AF. I have lots of those and the ECGs look nigh on identical to my AF ECG strips, except, of course, that the ectopics are "joined up" when I get a report of AF. My specialist say that, essentially these are all atrial ectopics problems, with AF being a form of these where the signals form a feedback and circular mechanism that keeps it going.

If I were having ectopic beats in this situation, I would ask my GP for an ECG or get hold of a cheap home monitor (£50 or so) and run a few strips to show the arrhythmia clinic for advice.

If the monitor says AF, it's likely so. Personally, I would check with my GP, who would likely do ECG.
