Ablation date at Glenfield for next week.

Ablation date at Glenfield.Im really pleased I will be going in for my procedure on Monday 25th Nov,the procedure will be done by Dr M Abriham.I am only 53 and AFib starting we think after blood clots were found in my lungs after a 5 week illness which came from no where.Just wanted to say thank you to all the kind people on this forum for their reassurance and knowledge.Thank you ps 15 hours without food 😀

Good luck with your ablation. Am at the bottom of a long waiting list myself . Do you really have to starve for 15 hours ? Then obviously the length of the procedure . I don’t do well going a long time without food

Thank you so much.Yes the lovely nurse at Glenfield asked if I could not eat from midnight and my procedure may start after 11 am.😀

I had my ablation in Glenfield in Sept 2023, done by Dr Sandilands. I was looked after very well, as I’m sure you will be. Hopefully the nasty AFib won’t show it’s ugly head again.🤞🤞

Sorry didn’t see that till I was having my breakfast today, so you’ll now be at Glenfield, no doubt. I would have thought they’d have given you all that information. Good luck. Let us know how you got on.

Hi, have you had a pre op interview to discuss issues like your meds what to stop/start, allergies to anesthetics, transport etc

Good luck I was told no food from midnight tonight,pre assessment info says 4 hours,procedure is about 11.30🙃

Make sure the pre-checks are done regarding your drugs etc and follow instructions especially the anticoagulant.
