I had a call this morning from the admissions department at the hospital and they have given me 22nd September as a new day for my 5th ablation procedure having had my previous appointment cancelled at the 11th hour whilst in hospital waiting for the off on 16th August (seems like a lifetime ago)
Having had PAF nearly every other day ( a new experience for me - normally every few weeks) recently has been very draining and being given this date has given me some hope of a change in my situation.
The only thing that concerns me slightly is nothing to do with the procedure.
We have tickets for David Gilmour (ex Pink Floyd for those who do not know) at the Royal Albert Hall on 25th September. Not only are they non refundable but the ticket purchaser (me) has to be there with photo ID. So if I am not up to it we will have to put it down to the fact that this year has been an "annus horribilis".
C'est la vie.

Now it has got even more confusing but even better.
I have just had another call from the hospital to day they have a cancellation on Thursday of this week and I am first on the list
So all being well we will be able to still go to the RAH.
Apparently my ablation is being carried out by a new consultant at our hospital who has recently moved from St Barts in London and not my previous consultant who was new to me anyway.
Good luck for this Thursday Pete, will be thinking of you and waiting to hear how it went.

You can't miss David Gilmour....cancel the ablation 😃.
Seriously, I went to see the Tedeschi Trucks Band at the RHA a couple of years back. On the first note of my favourite song of all time, my ticker burst into AF for about a minute. I didn't care though, it was just brilliant to be there.
