Losartan

Have been on Losartan 100mg for a long time and most mornings I seem to be often clearing my throat. I looked up on Google was this a symptom of the drug and read to my horror that Losartan had been recalled because of cancer scares! I haven't been told by the pharmacist of any such problem. I hope it isn't actually true. I shall have to do some investigation! Has anyone heard anything.

Been on it for probably ten years though now down to 25mg as BP reduced as soon as I lost weight and changed diet. Never heard anything about recall. Google can damage your (mental) health.

You'll maybe need to read Google a touch more closely on this one as I found myself in the same position as you - worrying thanks to comments from others!

A particular batch was implicated, if I recall, and this was several years ago. Losaratan is one of the most widely prescribed BP drugs also given as a "cardio-protective" to people with a possible risk of future heart failure or similar.

I take the same dose as you but ny BP has never been high. I also have to clear my throat, but that is owing to catarrh rather than losartan, of that I am quite certain.

Just started losartan 50 mg 8 days ago, so keeping a monitor of any side effects is essential as with any drug i believe, longer term possible side effects worry me also, we can take drugs for quiet a length of time and maybe something pops up and by then we may have forgotten certain drugs we take and dont correlate.

In NZ it was banned in 2019.

Losartan has piles of side effects.

There are other meds to bring down BP. I take just 2.5mg Bisoprolol which is a best for those with AF my specialist says.

I thought I had it at some early stage in 2019 but as I saw albumin in my urine I stopped it and it was not bringing down my Systolic BP.
