Dry mouth and AF/Flutter

just wondering whether anyone here has ever suffered a dry mouth prior to the onslaught of AF/Flutter? I noticed it yesterday for a second time before I went in to AF yesterday. Ended up in A&E as I also had very bad lightheaded ness and was very cold.

Hi Rosie , snap ! I don't know whether it's coincidence but I went into fast AF (😬) in the early hours and prior to that had very dry mouth even though I was keeping well hydrated. At the moment I'm trying to sit it out and see if I can get back into sinus by wishful thinking 😅 Past experience shows this to he unlikely though.....

I do hope you get sorted out at A&E.

Hi Julia, I’m glad to hear I am not the only one who suffers dry mouth. I’ve had it on the last three occasions when I have AF/Fluttering rearing it’s ugly head. Only been on the occasions when I have also had bad lightheadness where it’s been so bad I have had to dial 999. Maybe then there is a correlation of the two.

"Yep..........had a "light flutter" episode on tuesday and i noticed that my mouth and throat was very dry , even though i was well hydrated. It lasted about 8 hrs but wasn't too intense. In the morning i was doing a garden job and got covered in plant droppings off some flowing shrubs, i also suffer from hayfever . Have noticed that dry throat and mouth do occur during "episodes"... i drink at least five pints of water every day...................

Hi

I awake with dry and partially ufeeling tongue.

When one wakes up one is in a state of hydration. A big glass of water first thing is good.

I do thing that my PRADAXA could be a culprit but I take it twice a day and the morning one doesn't do it.

I had my swallowing checked and I uess he checked out my tongue.

cheers JOY. 74. (NZ)
