Hi everyone and thankyou for your advice and experiences, I am amazed at how common this symptom can be. I have had diagnosed AF for 25 years and undiagnosed for .many years before that. I had never heard of hyper-urination before reading of it on this forum.

Hyper-urination

Not everyone seems to suffer this symptom but many of us do, especially in the first few hours of an episode.

To be honest the term itself is not medically recognised. As mentioned "Excess micturation" is correct.
In my area, this is Atrial Natriuretic Peptide (ANP) & not everyone is aware of this—I mentioned it once when I was taken to the Emergency Department & no one seemed to know what it was…but I had it! It’s also known by (& apologies if I offend) its more common name as “The Big Pee”— no one in the emergency department recognized that phrase either. It was a teachable moment for me!
Oh ya, it’s common. It was explained to me once as to why it happens, and it made sense.
Yep, I didn't know what was going on with me until I found the explanation on this forum.
