I contracted a virus in 11/22, and was sick with fever of 104, then ended up in the hospital for 3 1/2 weeks. Developed cardiomyopathy and atrial fibrillation. Since then I am weak when standing and cannot exercise. With little exertion I can go into atrial fibrillation, I was given Flecanide and developed liver damage and weak kidneys. I stopped the medication in March and am trying to deal with this on my own. I lay down and rest when my heart rate is up. I would appreciate feedback from anyone who has experienced similar symptoms.

Sorry to hear that. Did they directly link your liver and kidney issues to the Flecainide? I'm on the drug, but wish I didn't have to be and that is one of the reasons I'm getting an ablation. Have you considered the ablation option? If it works, you might start feeling a lot better without need for some of these drugs.

Dear meshellesue,
I am very sorry for your troubles. I have had v-z related myocarditis and secondary atrial fibrillation.
What has helped me are rest, daily naps, cardiac rehab, daily propranolol and magnesium. With AFib occurrence, I take 500-1000mg Ranolazine, extra Mg++/propranolol, and usually cardiovert within 30mins.
Of course I have drastically modified my diet appropriately, practice meditation, mindfulness etc. It will help to get over the myocarditis, which is likely the source of your arrhythmia.
I hope this helps, best of luck and good health,
TB
Did your cardiologist prescribe you Ranolazine for AF?? If so, where in the world do you live? Here in the UK Ranolazine is usually prescribed for angina with using it for AF being frowned upon as an off-label use. I’ve read quite a lot indicating that Ranolazine is just as effective for converting AF as Flecainide but aren’t sure if it’s as effective as a daily antiarrhythmic medication.
My internist did. Flecainide can have ventricular proarrhythmic effects, so he felt its use as unmonitored at-home PIP might be dangerous. Ranolazine seems to be more atria-specific in its EP channel effects, with little ventricular proarrhythmia. Published data relate primarily to the AFib-conversion efficacy of ranolazine in conjunction with amiodarone. Thankfully, so far it has worked like a charm for me, as noted, with only added beta-blockade and Mg++. Of course I keep hoping that I’ll get out of this arrhythmic substrate once the myoc-is inflammation has resolved.
Maybe the issues you have experienced are due to the mRNA vaccine or maybe you didn't have the jab 🤔.
If you did want more information, I have followed these guys for a couple of years and would follow their suggestions if I had the same covid19criticalcare.com/tre... .
Best wishes.
More info is needed to present to your doctor. First question of course is what caused it?
Exactly which virus, and how long was your fever before it broke?
Hi
To help we need your BP at rest and H/Rate at rest.
Metroprolol made me with no energy and breathlessness.
Changed to Bisoprolol. H/Rate still uncontrolled. Then a private heart specialist who put me on CCB Diltiazen 120mg which I take AM.. Now controlled but PM 2.5mg Bisoprolol remained but reduced from 10mg.
CCB stands for Calcium Channel Blocker. For me a wonder drug. On 180mg (too much) my heart rate day dropped 105 beats a minute.
Take care, JOY
