Good morning SantiF

Thanks for your post on the Atrial Fibrillation support forum.

If you have any concerns with erectile dysfunction we would recommend talking with your Doctor.

Kind regards

The guy is just looking for reassurance, not diagnosis. ED is a real problem for men with the cocktail of drugs we take. And being guy, it’s heart crushing to want to and not be able to.

I would have appreciated discussion on this as it is a real problem and i have it to, but in respect of your recommendations i will not say anymore.

That is not helpful- it is AF related for this gentleman, who was brave enough to post this - and would probably help others as well.

yep Bisoprolol is know for that. At diagnosis I was given 10mg daily which left me limp as a lettuce on a sunny day.

Now down to 2.5mg and have some function back, 5mg of Calais does the trick though and causes no problem with my heart.

Any more and my boner doesn’t go away once I’m done. I had to run it under the cold tap to get rid of it.

You’re not on your own pal, happens to the best of us.

Can't help you with the question, but you could also ask it over on Mens Health also on HU. There are a couple of associated forums.

I had to leave Men’s Health as it turned into Grindr, people posting pictures of their twig and berries, not what I want to see over my coffee. Happy to talk about embarrassing issues, dont want to “see’ the thing in question.

I also left mental health support, that was too dark, too many people suggestion suicide as a viable option and no admin support. The AF group has been my only success on HU.

TracyAdmin We are not here to diagnose, but to let a fellow AF patient, who has found out that one of his meds has unwanted side effects.

Of course he should talk to his gp/clinician. I was simply letting him know he wasn’t on his own.

We know you have to “moderate” these boards to keep them safe but be reasonable. You got a but OTT on this one.

Mens Health....yes, it did swerve in that direction for a while. It helps that 'dangly bits' now are hived off in their own dark corner.

Thank you everyone for your feedback, we totally agree the Forum is here to offer support from fellow AF patients and share your experiences as you feel appropriate, however, it is a very personal topic that should be discussed on 1:1 individual basis with the GP, with access to their medical records they are able to provide the best treatment - taking into account any other underlying health conditions.

Thank you for your support and understanding for your fellow member.

Kind regards

You could say that EVERYTHING is personal with regard to AF... none of us have the same issues, responses to meds, conflicting secondary issues.... this is just a very narrow minded response to a genuine problem. Relax a bit Admin.🙏
