there is a drug interaction checker if you google and put both in. I ask the pharmacist sometimes and they look things up in the BNF

Fexofenadine is Telfast and with me as much as it helps as a antihistamine it gives me insomnia . I would try it first in the morning and if no side affects its probably alright.

It may give you palpitations.

I use cetirizine ( Zyrtec) but it will make you drowsy. No side affects with AF.

I use cetirizine also. I use it daily for skin irritation (a reaction to another tablet) - no problems.

I take "One a day" with Loratidine.

Non drowsey.Good for insect bites.

Cetirizine leaflet has 'may have a rare effect of causing a fast heartbeat'. It did for me, which was very annoying as I had had a successful ablation. Infuriating as I hadn't read the small print. I had just come back from a long cruise to Australia with a very sore throat - some sort of allergic reaction.

I am a mossie magnet. You can tell me a mile off in the heat - long trousers, long sleeve shirt, long socks, etc,.. mad dogs and englishmen and all that. Rather than take pills I use DEET 30% repellent. The little black flies in some ways are worse - they are very fast and don't make any noise, but neither do the tiger mozzies that are spreading through Spain.

I assume I am still going to get bitten despite being paranoid and zapping anything that flies near me with a swatter. While I was in Australia I bought a product called Stingose which is quite effective. The other alternative is to get some medicinal alcohol from the chemist and plonk that on, but not together.

So I don't know anything about fexofenide but there should be a leaflet in the packet which will list all the side effects. If it doesn't cause problems I would be interested to hear about it as I get hay fever which I tend to' grin and bear it' and stay indoors if it gets really high.

I reacted the exact opposite to you, but then a lot of supplements also have reverse side effects with me.

Sounds like you were on the East Coast as Bush flies ( little black flies) are worse if the prevailing wind is bringing them from inland.

I found Scottish midges the worst .

For itchy bites you can use Dettol Disinfectant Antiseptic mixed with Johnsons Baby Oil.

Old bush cure or try any antiperspirant with aluminum .

Any cream repellent with DEET (chemical name, N,N-diethyl-meta-toluamide) will stop itches also

What sort of aluminium? Stingose contains aluminium sulphate - is this the same?

Aluminum chlorohydrate which is in Rexona antiperspirants .

Its only a temporary relief Stingose is far better.

warm salty water will help the eye lid heal and reduce itchiness , it may sting a bit but that means its doing good
