I have been on Multaq for over two years. It had not stopped my AF but I get longer between episodes - three to six months generally though if I get an infection the AF breaks through every few days until the infection clears. Be sure to have checks on kidneys and liver. I have blood tests every six months. I hope it works well for you.

morning , yes , I am on multaq and have been for the last 20 months . No side effects and does seem to be keeping me in NSR , although I had my 3rd ablation 3 and a half weeks ago . EP said it would be my last . Unfortunately only 75 % successful due to incomplete ablating of superior vena cava as was too close to important structures . Therefore EP wants me to stay on multaq long term . Very disappointing as I so wanted to come off , purely because it is a toxic drug requiring regular blood tests and who knows what long term damage will be ? I’m under 60 . But as I say , I seem to tolerate it well ( UK based so no cost issues for me )

I was initially put on Multaq (Dronedarone 400mg) since diagnosed with paroxysmal AFib three years ago. During the first few weeks I was still having episodes. These episodes lingered briefly and went away. No chest pain or other discomfort. According to my doctor friend, he told me that it is quite normal because the medication will reduce the frequency of AF episodes but the control is not always 100% and I may still get the occasional one. He however suggested that if they were very frequent, I should let my cardiologist know. So I did I and I was put on Flecanaide. It is way less costly than Multag and it has been working well for me. I guess everyone is different.

Yes on multaq 3-4 years approx, it quells things down somewhat along with bisoprolol.

I was on Amiodarone for 8 months following a second ablation but it caused a few issues so was put on Multaq and have been for the past 21 months, 19 months AF free up until recently, but I can honestly say that was down to stress with two cancer scares, one wasn't and the other one has been addressed via an operation.

I have had 6 month checks on kidney and liver and all ok. Due to the two recent AF episodes I have been put back on Flecainide as a PIP.

I was put on Multaq several years ago and it did not treat me well. I can't say whether or not it would have conquered the horrible AF because it made me so dizzy I only stayed on it for a couple of weeks.

Have been on Multaq twice a day since January 2023 at time of CV and has kept me AF free so far...haven't had any problems or bad symptoms with it, blood tests show kidney, liver OK... however I don't want to be on it forever...and don't know when it will stop working...but for the moment I'm tolerating it
