I lasted 1 week on that stuff. How did you manage 2 yrs?

Have been taking Multaq for 1,5 years and as it has not really prevented PAF in my case as I have had 12 bouts this year always self terminating within 8 hours and that is possibly a benificial effect of Dronedarone.

The main and very disturbing side-effect has been a feeling of lethargy and no go anymore.

Now my cardiologist has suggested cryo ablation and I am contemplating if I should agree to this proceedure. I reside in Sweden and like to hear if any of you have had more favourable effects of Dronedarone(Multaq)? Cryo ablation?

Hi,

I took dronedarone for a year and a half but it didn't help with PAF happening every week or so lasting 12-14 hours. In September 2017 i had cryo-ablation and I have been free of AF and off all drugs except Apixaban since! I was fearful of the cryoablation and put it off for 6 months, but I am so glad I had it, life is normal again!

Good Luck

Thanks for your information. Will go ahead with the ablation next year, Funnily enough I don´t see many comments from people taking Dronedarone(Multaq). Is there an unknown reason?

Did your doctor mention “Dronedarone(Multaq)” to you? I have been trying to find out if Dronedarone(Multaq)is a good replacement for amiodarone. Your experience?

Hi country girl

After your cryo-ablation did you Ever flip back into Afib?

Also after th3 procedure were you put on meds to keep you from flipping back into Afib? If yes , which meds.

Hi, No I am pleased that I have had no AF that I'm aware of since my ablation (and I was previously very symptomatic.) I have had no drugs since ablation except for Apixaban anticoagulant.

We’re you on Dronedarone(Multaq) for 2years? What reason were you taking it for?

We’re you ever on amiodarone ?

I have now been on Dronedarone for 2 years and apart from a slight tiredness at times I have no side-effects. Funnily enough I have not had PAF for close to three months which is a good thing as I am putting aside my ablation until next year because of the Corona situation.

I am aware that Amiodarone is considered to be more potent than Dronedarone but there are definitely less side.effects with the latter.
