Hi all .....am 8 weeks post 2nd ablation and I've not had the easiest of times ans now they've got worse. I've had afib attacks evwey day for the last 5 days ...2 lasted 12 hours and I've just started another attack...always same time everyday oddly.

I feel so fed up ans wish I'd never had rhe 2nd ablation as I wasn't thus bad before it .

Can only think its failed to have so many attacks in a row ....

Any thoughts as feeling like I've lost all hope if ever having g a good QOL back ever again and at 56 surely this can't be it .😥

I hope your arrhythmia team get back fast tomorrow Sunnyann. Weekends can be tough and Sundays seem an age when you’re needing answers. Make sure to ask the team for reassurance and share your fears. They’re dealing with similar experiences every day and have seen so many people through nightmare times and out the other side. Be patient with yourself, you’re still in blanking period and let us know how it goes!

So sorry to hear that you're having a rough time but this too will pass! You're still in the blanking period of 3 months (sometimes longer). Hopefully your arrythmia team will give you something to get your episodes under control while your heart is still healing. It's early days. Try not to panic and take care of yourself x

Contact your cardio nurse for advice and reassurance, they are they to help you post ablation.

Hi Sunnyann, sorry to read your post and what a tough time you’re having. Did you experience any of this with your first ablation? I will be 11 weeks on Wednesday and like you have had a rough ride. Regular AF attacks and lots of ectopics. The AF is becoming less now and over last few days the ectopics are not as often. Fingers crossed we will both settle down. Good luck

Your ablation scars are still healing so it's likely the AF will still slowly resolve and become less frequent and troublesome before perhaps even ceasing altogether. How do you feel during the AF episodes and how long for? The AF I had a week or so after my ablation was the worst I have ever had and forced me back to the arrhythmia clinic for observation and extra bisoprolol to get it settled.

I have read but lost the details of a recent study which suggested that in patients where their AF settled completely within 6-8 weeks after ablation, it was a sign of eventual complete success but in those in whom the AF continued after this time, which was a significant proportion, it was a sign of a less successful outcome, but still one with much reduced and less symptomatic arrhythmia. I would still think yours will settle and be much better as time heals the wounds. Have you asked about taking any medications to calm things down?
