Hi,

Has anybody else felt like me? I had my 2nd Ablation 8 weeks ago and now I have the flu. I felt pretty good beforehand but now since I've been ill my heart I think has gone back into AF. I'm hoping when I recover it will be OK.

Still very early days as I am sure you will know. Three to six months for full recovery and yes any inflamation can make this sort of thing happen. Try some echinacea and stay well hydrated.

Can I take echinacea whilst on blood thinners?

Breakthrough AFib attacks are common during the healing period. Don’t despair yet - rest up, hold on through attacks and ask your EP about help or supplements. It took 6 weeks before breakthrough attacks stopped and 10 for fatigue to lessen. And I also had a rotten cough from anesthesia and - my opinion- dronderone/Multaq to slow heart down temporarily.

My 3 month anniversary is 7/12.

Good luck!

It ain't easy being in recovery and getting slammed with the flu. I was a week out from my ablation and hit a double whammy with the flu AND a pulmonary embolism (flu probably from the hospital - it was Feb and PE from the ablation). Hydrate and rest!
