I have no thyroid so am taking thyroxine & Calcuim along with ,this after an episode a AF ,I was put on Propranolol 40x2 ,Flecainide 5x2 , Apixaban 5x2, and also Rosuvasratin. I have never had a follow up with a consultant though. I have tinnitus for many years which affects my hearing too.
The tinnitus of late has go worse and worse especially at night - it’s horrendous. The brand of Rosuvastatin has been changed several times of late - I am wondering if this is one problem, but on reading about the effects of Flecainide I am wondering if this may not help. I am trying to lose weight now as I am near top end of pre- diabetic. I am not over weight ,though. After trying to stay healthy all my life - I am getting frustrated - any suggestions would be truly welcome.

Is it Pulsatile Tinnitus - when you hear your own heartbeat and worse when you lie down or just ordinary, humming noises?
White noise cancels it and I use ear buds, put on an audiobook (the more boring the better) and then I’m away.
My audiologist suggested that Tittinus is the brain trying to compensate for hearing loss and that often when people wear hearing aids the Tittinus disappears or lessens. When was the last time you had a hearing test?
Pulsatile Tinnitus of course doesn’t and needs investigating to rule out serious causes.
Rather than jump to the conclusion that it is one of the meds, which could be the case, process of elimination from above causes is sensible.
Can your hearing aids play white noise? Modern ones can and many people find it cancels the Tittinus. It’s annoying I agree but the more I focus on it the worse it gets so I use distraction and then I don’t notice it.
I started getting tinnitus, which I never had in my life, since taking Bisoprolol, a beta blocker ( similar to propanolol). It is a known side effect. I worked out after a few weeks, that certain brands made it worse, so I stick to one brand now. I’ve also reduced the dose which has also eased it slightly. I’m not suggesting you do the same, as any changes need to be discussed of course with your doctor, but it might not necessarily be the Flecainide and could be a brand of one of your other meds.
