If so, did the nitroglycerin ever trigger an afib episode, or another arrhythmia? Thanks.

My idiot GP back in 1980 something decided that I had angina and gave me GTN spray which did nothing for the problem or anything else except give me monumental headaches. It was only in 2004 when I moved house and GP that AF was diagnosed (her mother had it so she knew about it. ) and my proper treatment started.

Hi Jim,

I was using a nitroglycerin spray for about six months last year due to chest pain on exertion. I didn’t notice that it had any effect on my AF at all. It did cause a headache but only for a very short time in my case and even that wasn’t so noticeable after using for a few weeks.

I hope that helps, TC

No, but it used to give me a tremendous headache I’m now on isosorbide mononitrate for micro vascular angina (sparking of the minor vessels supplying the heart) and that has kept the angina at bay
