No I haven't. This must be a concern for you. Was this discovered via blood test or had you had previous scan? One of my liver function tests is always out of range but my GP just writes "as expected" these days.

Good to have a scan. It will set your mind at rest if ok and they will know what to do if treatment needed.

A blood test can't identify a 'mark' on your liver. However a test result outside the 'normal' range is referred to as a 'marker'. Around the time of my ablation two years ago I was on Apixaban (anti-coagulant) in preparation for the procedure and a blood test showed a highly-elevated marker for liver function. This turned out to be a reaction to the drug and returned to normal after stopping it.

Obviously it's important any abnormal test result is investigated further, but it may be that your 'normal' is outside the quoted range anyway, which is quite common, or it may be a reaction to a drug you're currently taking.

Yes, and on a kidney both showing up on a CT scan. I had to have an MRI follow up to check them both. I was assured these things show up commonly and are nearly always of no consequence but that they will always check these days.

You will be fine.

Since this phone call came after a blood test it maybe that a "marker" showed up in your liver tests. High specific enzymes. I had this after taking paracetamol for hip problems. High gamma GT. IT halved in the next month when I stopped the paracetamol. So it could be any one of many "markers" that show up in liver function tests. The doctor will investigate further depending on which tests were out of range.Hope all goes well for you.

Maybe, but the doctor will know the probabilities from the specific marker or combination of markers. I don't take statins since they make me ache all over. He will sort you out. Try not to worry.
