I’ve definitely heard of this. It was discussed recently on the BHF forum so it might be an idea to search through their posts for more info and to read of other peoples’ experiences.

Yep my liver results have been whacky for over 15 years, had numerous scans, tests and biopsies over that time and no definite cause found, my Gastro Con puts it down to medication I’m on for ulcerative colitis.

May be the pain meds you are taking.

Hi, I have a yearly anticoagulant check up at my doctors which involves a blood test which I think is to check liver. Had my yearly check this week and they remind me once a year

Hello,

I've been on Apixaban an Bisoprolol for just over a year and the side effects have been awful. I've had such bad burning pains in my feet that I've taken myself off of them. I'm now 6 months in NSR since my DCCV in February. I am aware of the fact that the Afib could restart.

My last liver function tests were raised liver enzymes and some changes to my Haemoglobin levels. I am about to do another blood test to check liver and kidney function so it'll be interesting to see how it's responded to reducing and stopping the meds.

I cannot tolerate the bisoprolol at all and was advised to just stop it after the DCCV, my pharmacist advised me otherwise, he advised me to wean myself off really really slowly, which is what I did over the last 6 months. The Apixaban I stopped in May as the pains were so bad that I couldn't tolerate it. I have a CHADS score of 1. Verapamil was worse than Bisoprolol so is not an option for me.

I had my bloods done during the six weeks I was still on Apixaban post-ablation, and my liver function reading was way out of the normal range. I was suspicious that it may be caused by the drug and did a little research, finding that it was indeed likely to have skewed the result.

I had the test done again after finishing my course and my liver was back to a normal reading.

if it’s a one off liver test and it’s abnormal, they will prob say do another one in six weeks or such…..I’ve had that saud and the next one was normal…..

Did he say take another one later on….?
