I began my journey with Atrial fibrillation in 2010. Low potassium and high blood pressure was considered to be the instigator. I found out a year ago that I have a tumor on an adrenal gland that is producing too much aldosterone. Too much aldosterone causes low potassium and high blood pressure. I currently take potassium, carvedilol, lisinopril, Triamterene, flecainide, and xarelto. Even though 3 of these meds are supposed to control high blood pressure, my blood pressure is uncontrolled. So my question, has anyone here have a similar problem with too much aldosterone production? My AFib is persistent, even after 4 ablations. I’m hoping after they begin treatment for the adrenal glands, either surgery or medication which is to be determined, my AFib will be less. Thanks for any insight!
