Hi! Thank you. Yes, it really is! When they go through all the things that could go wrong before you sign the consent form and then you’re taken into a huge theatre with all that equipment, it does affect you!
Ahh! That’s kind of you FJ! Yes, St Barts were really wonderful and the EP who lead the procedure so obviously clever and skilled in his work and kind as well!
Well done! I was due for an ablation at St Barts tomorrow, but it has had to be postponed as I tested positive for covid on TuesdayServes me right for going away on holiday last week!
Yes, my first one. I've been told to phone admissions next week re another date. Feeling much better today so hopefully will test negative soon. Thanks for commiserations!
Congratulations. As I'm sure you know, patience and positivity now required, both things I've been short of in my life but having Afib and an ablation have taught me to pursue. I'm 4 months after ablation and down to one or 2 short episodes a week and happy with that for now but on the list for a top up.
I was under EP team at Bart’s for years with Ectopic beats under Pro.Shilling Jrn . Him and his team tried to give me ablation to help me!
But couldn’t bring on the EB 🙄 when you want them they don’t happen Crazy .. still have bouts of them , after 30 years of having them .. but live with them now 🫣 I’ve got to 70 with them so Iam grateful for that !
If you're not on warfarin try co enzyme Q10 for help with the ectopics. It reduces inflammation and inflammation and afib are highly linked. Loads of research on google scholar about it. Best of luck with your recovery. Now rest, rest and listen to your body. There's no rush to get back to normal in a few weeks. You didn't get to where you are in a few weeks.
Very welcome. I had my ablation ten months ago. I've had one minute of tachy something but it wasn't afib. Nsr is a wonderful feeling. I didn't realise how awful I felt until I didn't feel awful anymore.
Glad to hear you got on ok. I am ok, apart from the odd missed heartbeat, which can be a bit disturbing, although it’s not been quite as bad these last 2 days. It’ll be 6 weeks since my ablation, on Wednesday. Hope you’re taking it easy. All the best for a full recovery and no AFib. .
Hi Slidingdoors, I had a Cryoablation Ablation on Thursday , I am so relieved not to be feeling ill all the time.
I am getting lots of rest and hope you are too, I have experienced some 'funny heart feeling' and decided not to focus on them appreciating that my heart and body have experienced some trauma and need time to heal ( I had bleeding from the groin) .
