ablation for goddaughter at last!

At last my beautiful goddaughter has her date for ablation for SVT! She is now 12 and has been on flecanide since the age of 3. Yes you read that right...3. Has to be made up into a syrup for her as not usually given to under 12s.

8 cardioversions over the years with heart rate well over 200-250

It hasn't put her off being a great netballer, cricketer and swimmer though.

proff Bowley, well regarded,is doing it now she has reached maturity required to perform it.Roll on November!!

I think she is brilliant and an inspiration to us all.

Go gal!

Glad to hear you're ok. I'm doing pretty well. Since the cardioversion in April, the difference has been amazing. Still waiting for a surgery date, but I won't be chasing that. Had a few tests as prep but waiting for the results.Don't forget the frothy coffee when you're up to it.😁.x

My wife’s hairdresser has a young son who had an ablation a year ago ironically carried out by my EP and he continues to play for Chelsea’s junior team! Hope you are still doing OK, November’s a good month, my birthday👍😉🙏🙏🙏

One of the top swimmers at the Commonwealth Games has had ablations for SVT. There was a lot of talk about how he had a ‘heart condition’ and had three ‘operations’ so I looked him up.

Best wishes to your god daughter 🍀

I had an ablation for svt about 2 years ago. All ok, no meds, no symptoms at all. I hope all goes well.

It's rare isn't it? I know of someone who had the same as a child. Had to have 2 but fixed after that. Also sporty but became a singer and yoga teacher. So pleased for her and her family.

Kids have a wonderful positive way of dealing with hardship and it inevitably drives them on to achieve more....as I always say Nature has a way of compensating.

HiReally 12.

Can she be tried on CCBs Calcium Channel Blockers! Only med which worked for me.

Her heart needs to be perfect to have an ablation. One of my chambers is enlarged so not a candidate.

You know that it scars the heart.

Has she been checked to have a thyroid scan. Mine was caused by thyroid cancer.

AF is also caused by inflammation.

There are risks with Ablation.

Weighing up if she has been checked all over, first.

So young.

cheers JOY. 73. (NZ)

A friend on lots of different drugs finally had an Ablation and he had two electrical firings. So far he is free from all his meds.

Oh wow what an amazing little girl! You must be incredibly proud of her. So glad she is going to get treatment that will hopefully sort it out! Am wishing her all the best, got my fingers and toes crossed that this op resolves it for her. If she can achieve all that with her heart condition just imagine what she will do once its sorted. Brilliant!!

Oh my goodness wilson. I've never heard of someone so young afflicted by this. I know that she has a great family taking care of her. And her guardian angels are watching over her. Children are so innocent and lucky for them to not have the worries us adults have. I guess we do the worrying for them. 😌 God speed for her. And all of you..🙏🤗

Yes it is very unusual apparently. It was a bad day when it started. You are right ,children are very resilient . It's us that fret!Thank you for your prayers.Dawn x

Not sure where you are located but Europe has the PF technology. Much safer, more effective and quicker. Its in clinical trials in the US and results according to data its highly effective and doesn't burn tissue to do its work.

I'll tell her parents thanks
