Which one and where do you get it?

Brand is Pharma Nord, from Natural Dispensary, bit pricey at £43.45 ( incl £3.50 p & p ). The pack says, Bio- Quinone Active Q10, Gold 100mg contains 60 capsules.

Originally prescribed years ago ( 2011) by a Nutritionist.

Can you tell me specifically why it's taken? IT seems to be recommended b y lots of people but I've never really known why.

Sometime after I was diagnosed with AF I found food would bring on an AF event. Long story short .... I consulted a Nutritionist and told her my story including my medications after declaring Simvastatin and Warfarin ( and also at the time Bisoprolol ) she recommended I take this product, what I have listed is exactly what she prescribed for me and also the supplier. I know a range of other health care outlets sell a range of brands but I've stayed with this one and this particular dose. Somewhere in my computer files I've got her notes but can't find them at the moment.

I get 200mg profuel is the brand from Amazon Germany. I find it excellent and good value. Actually any brand I've used have done their job to be honest.

I use Lamberts Healthcare, I believe they have a good reputation in the UK.

Before deciding on the dose level it may be best to get your level tested; blood test through a private clinic as NHS GP surgery unlikely to oblige, cost me around £100.

Renew Actives from Amazon 200mg and get blood test first, my levels were low and after taking it for 9 months they have just crept over the low level in the normal range

just looked it up as I'd never heard of it. Says on google should not be used by people taking medication including drugs for diabetes, blood thinners, and beta-blockers . I'd have thought that would rule out most people on this forum.

I also take 100mg Co Enz Q 10 from Natural Pharmacy too with no problems.

lamberts are also a very good place to buy. Have a good reputation like Nat pharm do.

President Eisenhower had heart problems back in 1945 ….so his physician put him on the equivalent of statins…but at the same time gave him coq10 because even then…doctors knew interfering with the liver/cholesterol pathway stopped the body making CoQ10…which is an essential part of mitochondrial cellular process of making energy by burning food/fats.

Here a fairly good link to explain some points…

purolabs.com/pages/best-coq...

No one actually talks about ATP and mitochondria….this is really the energy switch and there is something more efficient and more powerful than CoQ10….by a factor of 800.

But combining both will certainly be beneficial if you take statins or feel “old” and worn out….five species of life live on Astaxanthin alone…these animals never get cancer….because of the antioxidant properties….no misfolded proteins…

Hope that gives food for thought .

General Eisenhower was NOT put on statins in 1945 as they didn't even exist then. The first clinical trials for a statin was in 1981 by scientists at Merck. (see reference 76 in attached article).

Yes my bad…I have corrected the error because Eisenhower had high levels of cholesterol they put him on warfarin AND coq10…..but also used the precursors known at that time to lower cholesterol….known since the 1950’s…which was not the Statins as we know today but used the same pathway to interrupt the livers mechanism on cholesterol.

Thankyou for letting me know…

An interesting article ….
