Hi Elan, just to wish you all the best. I’m on a waiting list and I’ve found so much reassurance on this forum. Hope you’ve planned in plenty of rest and relaxation over the coming weeks as that seems to be a crucial element in healing after an ablation. Will be thinking of you ☺️

Thank you for your kind wishes

Best wishes from me too. Someone on this forum who has a pacemaker was saying the other day how much better he felt since having his AV node ablation.

Let us know how you get on please.

I posted a few weeks ago offering someone reassurance. I am 76, hate any kind of pain or discomfort, but found whole experience entirely good, have no regrets. Good luck.

Hello. Ive had the av node ablated. It was a fairly simple procedure actually. Given sedation and over pretty quickly. Had to lay flat for a while but was home the same day.Only little thing afterwards was that i developed a lump at the wound site in my groin but had it checked and all perfectly normal.

The pace and ablate has been a godsend for me , hope it is for you too.

Hello, I had an AV Node ablation last year and felt 100% better the next day. The procedure itself takes only about half an hour with a light sedation, there's no need to worry about feeling groggy afterwards. Just a few hours lying flat and off home. The next couple of days you'll need to take it easy because of the groin site but I'm sure you'll feel the benefit very soon. My quality of life is so good now, I can rush about all day now (I'm 74) so pace and ablate was worth waiting for. Good luck for the future.

I had my AV node ablation one week ago and am now back rhythm for the first time in 21 months. Nice feeling although my pulse rate is 80+. Still not back to normal but it may be due to a leaky mitral valve

Had mine six days ago, uncontrolled tachycardia, afib. Completely miserable before. Virtually bed ridden. Pulse over 120. Pacemaker put in three weeks ago.

Six days in, after av node ablation…wow. So much better. Some fatigue first two days. Went for twenty minute walk yesterday, felt fine.

Trying to ease back into life.

Good luck. Best wishes.

I am now 4 weeks post AV node ablation. Feeling better although my pulse is still 80+. Now have regular heart beat. Thank goodness. I have been told heart rate will be adjusted on first pace clinic appointment. Good luck

Thanks for letting me know I think its only answer for me .I wonder if you can feel the AF? I already have a pacemaker so should be straight forward.

No I can't feel AF anymore thank goodness. I am going for a pacemaker checkup next month. I have a Medtronic monitor so they should know whats going on.
