Lansoprazole

Hi,

I am into my third week of taking 2.5mg beta blockers and 60mg blood thinners.

I have a hiatus hernia and on Lansoprazole. The blood thinners have aggravated my stomach and causing acid reflux so I have had to increase the Lansoprazole.

Has anyone else suffered and did it get better?

Also what supplements are safe to take and help your immune system while on the medication.

can we take K2 with D3 or should we take D on its own?

Does blood thinners affect your immune system? Are we more prone to catching colds etc?

Many thanks 😊

Anticoagulants do not reduce immunity.

What anticoagulant (blood thinner) are you taking?

Hi Jean,

I am taking 60mg Edoxaban.

I've not heard of a problem before like yours with Edoxaban . Hopefully now we know what drug it is, other forum members may reply. Perhaps ask your GP if you can change Edoxaban to Apixaban to see if that is better for your stomach, rather than have to take Lansoprazole.

I always take my anticoagulant mid breakfast, then there is less chance of it causing reflux.

K2 is generally taken alongside D3, as it helps distribute the D3 throughout your body. I take both together.

Thank you so much for your advice.

I will see how it goes if it doesn’t settle down soon, I will check with my cardiologist.

I wasn’t sure if you could take K2 with beta blockers and blood thinners.

Do you take any other supplements?

I also take magnesium, taurine, vitamin B complex and sometimes zinc and vitamin C. I started taking more when Covid hit us.

IMHO stress makes acid reflux worse, stuff like meditation etc might help?

Have you tried raising the head of your bed? That can help a lot to reduce acid. I used to put books under mine.

I have a hiatus hernia too. Well chewed almonds can help.
