Hi, do we have here anyone with a.fib and complete stomach rejection? Please
What do you mean by complete stomach rejection? That the AF causes it or the medication?
Jean
I was wondering if we have here people with complete stomach removal (from gastric issues). If yes, do how it affected their atrial fab. Do they get more episodes? Actually, I have a lot of questions for this person. There is almost zero information at that issue
My gastric issues badly affect my cardiac arrhythmias and are a major trigger. Not sure what your stomach issues are can you explain a little more.
I am scheduled for the surgery for complete stomach removal. Was wondering if we have people with the same history. I have a lot of questions and can't find any answers
Oh sorry to hear you are having such a rough time. Maybe someone on the forum has had a similar experience and can help you. Best wishes.
If you type stomach removal or stomach cancer into the Health Unlocked search engine at the to right of this page it may throw up some posts that could help.
Sorry to hear you are having such troubles. I hope you can find some information that will help. Good luck and best wishes.
There is a food made that is not digested in the stomach. Do you have to drink that post op? Sounds a bad situation. Athletes drink it to take on nutrition during a race, but that's by choice. Tastes like chalk unless it's flavoured. (they add a lot of crap with the flavouring though) I think it's made from corn. I have a tub under my desk. Called Ucan. Made in the USA but sold in this country as well. It's very expensive. It was developed for a child who did not have a stomach or could not digest food normally I believe. I've used it during some of my races. They call it Superstarch but are a bit vague on the tub. generationucan.co.uk/
Our vision was inspired by Jonah - a young boy in the US who needed healthy energy that led to the creation of SuperStarch.
This is the only carbohydrate of its kind that delivers sustained energy, helps you burn fat, lets you recover efficiently and allows you to perform at your peak. We are redefining the world of sports and fitness with natural, safe and healthy nutrition.
Diagnosed at birth with a rare metabolic disorder, Jonah’s body was unable to break down certain carbohydrates, including glycogen. Determined to put a stop to constant hospital visits, SuperStarch was invented, and soon after that, UCAN company was born.
All the best.

If you are having such radical surgery then I would be surprised if there was no dietetics support for you. You need specialist support from a Registered Dietitian who is qualified to treat people with medical needs and who can support your nutritional needs. These people work in hospitals and have various specialisms.
This is not something that random people on the internet can waffle on about and tell you how their life changed after they started eating organic hemp seeds or whatever. If you are having a significant portion of your digestive tract surgically removed then you need professional dietetics support. Your hospital should arrange this for you. Going by the replies here, not a single person has gone through anything like this. I really do wish you better and that all goes well.
I don’t have this problem but I do know that most lone AFib (AFib with no other co morbidities) is vagal AFib. In other words AFib is caused by a vagus nerve issue. The vagus nerve controls the brain, heart, lungs and stomach. So common sense tells me that your situation, if you have lone AFib, could absolutely be affected by the vagus nerve and removal of the stomach. I had vagal AFib. I had a surgical ablation wherein the ganglionic plexi (part of the vagus nerve) was ablated. So far no AFib and my stomach problems went away after the surgery. That is why my thinking is the way it is.
Going through it now, sometimes, like yesterday I was so sick to my stomach I thought of going to the ER. It lasted all day and as of now still nauseous but not like yesterday. It happens every so often and anything I eat only exacerbates the problem. All I do is drink water and try and ride it out. I will say this, it also causes a lot of anxiety which is really hard to suppress and it causes very negative thoughts to manifest. Some readers on this forum don't approve my saying this but when faced with severe symptoms such as this, I just give it to GOD and I am able to endure it until it subsides. It can be unnerving at times but it's part of this thing called afib. PS, I've had afib for 30+ years and It still bothers me, by the way I have gastritis as well. I will pray that you will find a way to ease the stomach discomfort. GOD Bless.
