I had my second rf ablation did all 4 pulmonary veins this time and was good until month in had weird double beats and this am af. It then changed idk if it’s a normal beat but my heart rate has been 120-170 just idle for past 4 hours. Does anyone know how to read ecg I’m just curious bc to me it doesn’t look like my normal rhythm but idk how to read ecg.
Any thoughts

Looks like flutter. Show it to your ep today to confirm and come up with a treatment plan. You do not want to stay at that elevated rate for any longer than necessary.
You don't want to stay at that elevated rate any longer than possible. I was instructed to bring down my rate with additional rate control medications. That may or not apply to you. You have to talk to your ep today and come up with a plan. If that is not possible, I'd head over to the A&E.
Possibly. Often very hard to differentiate aflutter from atach or even afib only looking at lead 1, according to several ep's I've shown similar ekg's to. Flutter often does not come with a sawtooth pattern feature if that's what you're speaking of. In any event it's a tachycardia that just cannot be allowed to continue on indefinitely.
Hi. I had my second ablation a month ago also. My watch has said in in constant sinus rhythm. My ECG looks like hospital one. Yours does not look like my readings. It's early days
I’m not medically trained. Looks similar; please call your EP and send him/her a copy of your trace. They will hopefully give you comfort all is ok or indeed take action if it is needed,
go to the ER if you still in such high heart rate. This high heart rate is BAD. Don’t play Dr google and blanking period or whatever reason to delay treatment.
yes listen to everyone’s advice regarding rate TOO high. Go to emerg. Perhaps magnesium IV drip will help as you say you can’t take rate control. Also look at vagal maneouvers to bring down rate. Good luck.
looks like atrial tachycardia to me - quite a frequent occurrence post ablation. The rate is around 120bpm so in my opinion - assuming your heart healthy other than arrhythmia-wise - not imminently life-threatening as such but as others say you need it checking out sooner rather than later. Keep us posted.
I have just posted about what treatment options are available if you know you can’t take rate control meds and have sustained high heart rate - I have no answers but hoping for some comments and ideas?
As explained in my post I have my own protocol for sitting it out and always been able to and mostly self converted when I stick to my protocol but at what point would you seek medical intervention?
Email the printout to the arythmia nurse and EP. That's why you take a recording. I'm three months post ablation and I sent one to me EP about six weeks out! Don't think you're bothering them! That's what they are paid for!
yes please see a doctor. With a rate that high I was told it would dilate the atrium snd that (amongst other things) is now what I have because I kept thinking it would go back to normal on its own - wrong!!!!!
I have a loop recorder inserted in my chest. It sends ECG readings directly to my hospital. It's fantastic. I only have to press record when I was having AF (pre 2nd ablation a month ago) and they look at the recordings I send them in. No messing about. It's still in there now Battery lasts 3 years. If I go back into AF I now feel protected and looked after.
Perhaps ask for one to be inserted and they can monitor you from home??
But, please don't panic about this. After my ablation, I had periods of very fast heart rate, bigemini, even trigemini. Often these led to a short episode of AF as well. This went on for months. Eventually, after nine months or so it all stopped (no further treatment done). Now I'm nearly 12 months clear of heart troubles, other than the occasional ectopic beats that seem to come in clusters but are so short that I can't catch them on my Kardia.
Similar experience here! 2 cardioversions and 1 ablation in the last 18 months. Post procedure on all 3, relief from AFIB for a couple of days, and then right back in AFIB. Taking Xarelto and Metoprolol, and moving on. I don't like the meds but they work. Not sure what else I can do at this point!
