hi everyone I know there is a blanking period but I am beginning to lose hope in mine working.
As you know I went straight in to tachycardia after having mine done for paroxysmal and am now on my fourth episode of tachycardia which I am now on my fourth day of it it just doesn’t seem to want to go back to normal but what I don’t understand is why have I gone from paroxysmal to tachycardia which I think is worse,I am seeing my EP in two weeks so will know more then but I would like to know if any of you have gone in to tachycardia after the ablation it just makes me tired all the time and very fed up and I know it’s still early days but I don’t think I could do it all again.

Atrial tachycardia is quite common post ablation for AF. A cardioversion should, sort it out and no doubt your EP will organise . Patience is needed with AF treatment so please don't give up . Be positive. It really does help.
it took me the full 3 months for heart to settle down after ablation. Was fine for a year then it came back and I need to take an anti arhythmic after all.
yes thank you, still in NSR, but I do have a problem with recovery after exercise, need to chill out the day after. Hopefully this will subside over time…
I find it hard to believe your doctor would recommend you stop your anticoagulant regardless of a successful ablation. I can understand him stopping your antiarrhythmic after the blanking period that's common for successful Ablations. Quick story, my exwife had an ablation in 2014 successful and continued on amiodarone and Eliquis for 3 months. Doc told her to quit the Amiodarone but stay on the anticoagulant. She felt so good and Afib free she quit the Eliquis along with the Amiodarone. Big mistake, she suffered a stroke due to a clot from going into Afib in 2017. The cardiologists at the hospital said she should have stayed on her Eliquis indefinitely. Just a past experience. Good luck Mike.
I get it. They use a CHADS score - and if you didn't need to be on a blood thinner before the ablation they usually take you off of them after 6-7 months. My score is zero. Dr. told me if I go into A Fib to start the blood thinner again ASAP.
Sorry to hear about your ex-wife. Hope she's doing better now.
I’m so happy you posted this. I thought I was alone with my frustration. I kee reading everyone saying how easy their ablation was and how great they feel. I had second ablation on Nov 4 and woke in pain from the inflammation . The EP said he did extensive work and that I would be in some discomfort for a few days. For the last eight weeks I’ve been in and out of AFib and tachycardia in between with heart rate between 100-107. I’ve been to my Dr a couple times for ekgs and I’m scheduled to see him again on Jan 3. I’m hoping to get more info as to what they are going to do. I hope we can stay in contact so we can support each other because this is a difficult journey for sure!
hi Gracey I am also glad I am not the only one too. I have now been in tachycardia for a week and it’s really getting me down my heart rate is between 115-125 and that’s just sitting if I start moving around it can go higher, I new that I could go back into Afib but this is different and wasn’t expecting it like this. I went straight into tachycardia after having the ablation done and also wasn’t very well as they thought I had a bleed on my heart so had to have two echocardiograms straight after to check, my next appointment with my EP is the 11th jan so I suppose I am stuck like this till I see him. How many episodes have you had since having the ablation and how long did they last? I hope your appointment goes ok tomorrow let us know how you get on.
