Spirononolactone and Dapaglifloxin.

In my copy of a letter from my EP to my GP he has suggested that I should start taking the above 2 medications. This has not been discussed with me despite a 6 monthly phone call with my EP a couple of weeks ago! I will be talking to my GP about this proposal but wondered if anyone else had experience of these medications? They appear to be to help my cardiomyopathy and LBBB. I have Googled them. I aalready take Losartan, Sotalol, Warfarin and Atvorastatin and would prefer to minimise medication where ever possible. I am 74 and been suffering increased AF attacks and I am on the list for a follow-up ablation. Any comments about experiences with Spirononolactone and Dapaglifloxin would be welcome.

I have been taking both for some time, the Spironolactone longer than Dapagliflozin. I don’t take any of the others you mention though although I do take others, namely Entresto, Nebivolol, Digoxin, Fuorsemide plus a couple of others for different conditions. Despite fighting to stay off drugs for a long time, I do seem to have adapted to them quite well with few, if any, issues including the two you ask about. I am 76 with permanent AF, moderate heart failure with CRT pacemaker implanted. At last echo, my ef had gone from about 35% to 54% so something is working.

hi, I was given Spironolactone, but within a month I started having common side effect of very sore nipples and breast enlargement, told my GP and he took me off it straightaway. I'm male, aged 73.

Thank you that is helpful. I also have a pacemaker designed to kick-in below 50bpm. It is only 2 lead as they could not get the third lead to attach so I do not get any synronisation of my LBBB. Good to hear that your medication and pacemaker is giving you some improvement.

FWIW I take half a tab of spironolactone, down from a whole tablet and been on it for about 2 years and was put on Dapagliflozin last year. I've had no issues with either. I have DCM and Afib. I'm also on Entresto, Atorvastatin , Digoxin, Edoxaban. I also been on Thyroxine for the last 30years. I'm 76.
