Ca Thyroid meds. Surgeon & I put an ideal level of TSH at 2.0-3.0. Taken under tongue on empty stomach 5-7am. Sip of water. Then wait 1/2 - 1 hr -piece of banana. Why does UK want .8-1.0 TSH?

CONTROLLED rapid, persistent with AF HEART RATE.

Dropped from 186 to 156 on Bisoprolol.

Dropped from 156 to 88 on Diltiazem

Avges during day. 3x 24-hr monitors last year.

Avges during night 47-48! Stayed there.

I wish to help others.

2.0 TSH ideal for thyroid.

Under 100 for heart rate. Otherwise anaesthetists wont operate.

Have your Johnson & Johnson TVT Kit MESH removal. My energy returned after most of it was removed. Dr Eva FONG best experienced surgeon in NZ . Works privately and at Waitemata Hospital. (NORTHSHORE).

I will have AF for the rest of life.

I will be on PRADAXA twice a day all my life.

Hoping that my energy continues to rise.

Those with Thyroid problems keep TSH at 2.0. Low risk cancer after operation decline suppression and RAI Radio Active Iodine. I did. 2 yearly ALL CLEAR SCANS.

Balance your meds for AF. Track down Heart Specialist who is interested in you. CCB Diltiazem worked in CONTROLLING my Heart Rate.

Luckily I have a 'bad' ribcage but because of it my heart is more left and I don't feel my rapid heart.

Keep cheerful as IT IS GOOD TO BE ALIVE. I was told last week NO ABLATION for me because I have an enlarged bottom left chamber. Do get an understanding Dr.

I love my home Lockwood looking out to sea, far north. Kinda laid back life. Been here 26 years. 6 yrs working UK. Well travelled but for 3 years battled with above. Feel that I can move off again when world settles down with world viruses. Just had my VISA 4th. Only 1 caused problems.Put into nerve! Big red spot, lump under and itchy. Doxycycline given.

A second home on wheels my CAMPER. Take JAZ my min schnauzer camping and exploring.

Sometimes we have to accept that our life will have challenges.

I am grateful to the Carotid Artery Scanner JADE and caring experienced MR MARK SANDERS my Surgeon and Dr Dowd and private Heart Specialist BRANDON all working well for me and will not forget Dr EVA FONG Uro-Gynae Surgeon.

THANK YOU.

I did find some NOT persons unhelpul but I wont mention them.

CHERI. JOY

Annoyed that I cannot take Ibuprofen for inflammation.

I’ve always enjoyed reading your posts, we all have different ways of expressing ourselves and you always have a positive outlook. One of my regrets was not going to NZ. I know many who have toured both islands and they all had a wonderful time there. So many beautiful places to see and the people there have a great reputation for being welcoming. We have a camping car too (called FlapJack😉) and have travelled all over the UK and Europe seeing beautiful places we would never normally see on package holidays. We have hired them in Canada and we were so tempted to do the same in NZ.

It’s also interesting to hear about how different countries treat patients with AF. We tend to hear mostly about the UK and America because that’s where most of the members seem to come from but the numbers from NZ and Oz seem to be increasing which is great. Your comments about the thyroid and Radio Active Iodine treatment were interesting too. I did decide to go down that route and it certainly seems to have help improve my AF but I was very nervous about having it done, ironically I have my blood tests later today so it will be interesting to see the results 🤞 take care and all the best…….

HiThanks FLAPJACK. A great name for your van.

I call mine 2nd home or Js. So it's Joy and JAZ (mini schnauzer).

I would remind folks to explain their abbreviations as some of us haven't come across every abbreviation.

THANX.

I also follow you.

I stand to FAST before my next TSH test. So it will be reality and true.

My surgeon and I follow top surgeon USA Clinic. After I refused RAI radio active iodine and suppression IT IS NOW CLINICALLY PROVEN THAT AT LOW RISK it is unnecessary to give patients RAI nor have them be in danger with suppression. Dosing over 'normal' is bad for the heart and may agravate the AF.

NZ also have changed their entry from METROPROLOL TO BISOPROLOL. GOOD. Metroprolol is reknown as a Beta Blocker to cause BREATHLESS and FATIGUE.

Iyt certainly did not CONTROL my H/Rate and my heart wasunder stress from Sept 2019 to Feb 2021 when I demanded a heart specialist.

WE MUST HAVE A FOLLOWUP. DO YOU ALL AGREE AFs?

I had radioactive iodine treatment twice (didn't manage to zap it enough first time) about 18 years ago which didn't cause me any problems. I felt so much better after as the overactive thyroid symptoms were a nightmare.

AF didn't kick in until 6 years ago so the thyroid didnt trigger that. Hope your bloods get the thumbs up.

Thanks, T4 good, TSH still low at 0.05 and the bu**ers didn’t do T3, but seeing the GP Tuesday……

Seems to depend on whose in the lab as to whether I get a T3 reading or not 😁. Blood test next week for my endocrinologist appt at the end of the month. The hospital have always managed my thyroid rather than passing over to the GP but since I've been on Amiodarone, they check me every 4 months rather than every 12 months.

Hope it goes well 👍
