My procedure was done yesterday, and I noticed some seepage fro m the groin veins this morning. I overdid it by driving home and that's what caused it. It stopped as soon as I quit driving. Am wondering how serious this is, since I'm new to all this, and on Eliquis. Any input would be greatly appreciated,

Cryoablation vein seepage
Wow!!!
I want to be unkind but you should really have got someone else to drive you home.
Luckily you got home safely.
As long as your groin has stopped bleeding and you are now taking it very easy and resting a lot it should settle down.
However if you are at all concerned and if it starts again call 111 or 999 if the bleeding is significant as a matter of urgency.
Pete
I understand Pete. I stayed overnight after my surgery at a friends. I live alone so I drove home 24 hours AFTER surgery. It quit seeping as soon as I got home. Have been waiting 5 hours for callback. I was curious if some seepage was common??
I had great difficulty with seepage. Outrageous that you have had to wait 5 hours for a call back.
Whilst I was in hospital they had to apply a contraption called a Femostop” to apply pressure to stop the bleeding in my groin. The bruise ultimately tracked right down my leg to my knee.
On another occasion a nurse had to apply pressure manually to stop the bleeding.
I expect you feel like I felt, I.E vulnerable.
As you live alone I can understand the difficulty. If you had lived near me I would have volunteered to give you a lift home had I known.
I do hope it settles down.
For the next 2 weeks you must rest as much as you can but again that must be so difficult for you living alone.
Hopefully your friends you stayed with can help you with shopping.
Best wishes
Pete
Potty Pete is spot on. When I was recovering in the ward I was embarrassed as I thought I'd wet the bed, but no. The bed was soaked in blood and the sister stopped the bleeding manually which took ages. She told me if I hadn't noticed I could have bled out very quickly. Be very careful! And good luck with your recovery.
Thank you for the kind thoughts!! I never did get a callback. Paid my neighbor to take me to Urgent Care where I was told it would be a 2 1/2 hour wait. The nurse did say it didn't appear to be seeping. I'm going back at 8am, to have the dressing changed. It is first come first serve, so wish me luck!😊
Seepage was my only slight problem after the ablation and it lasted for 5 days, but it was never serious, the extent decreased steadily and I just changed the plaster every day until the site had completely healed over.
I've had 2 ablations...last one 10 days ago... and both times only slight seepage for day or two but sore for over a week. I was advised not to drive for at least a week. Please rest and take it easy. And get advice if it continues. Also check for heat and swelling.
You’ll be fine as long as it has stopped. I had problems getting one of my vein incisions to stop bleeding. Just kept bleeding, but not a lot. After 4 days had to have the doctor inject it with something to get it to stop. The vein was a problem after surgery too. Lots of pressure put on it.
Thanks Theo! My after surgery paperwork wasn't very helpful. It states any kind of leakage, contact cardiologist asap, so of course that worried me. I never did get a callback yesterday. I am headed back to urgent care so they can check them and change the dressing. Was concerned I couldn't change them this first time if bandages were stuck to the wound😄 I will be braver tomorrow!!
I was assigned an advocate that I could call if I had any problems. I called her when I kept bleeding, she told me to ice with pressure. Did that on and off for a day. But just kept leaking blood. So went into EP’s office the next day. They immediately addressed the slow bleed. I was very impressed with their response. I’ve also had nerve pain in my leg that really has scared me. They assured me over and over, that it will get better. Each day it does seem to be improving. Yay!
I was told not to drive for a week after the ablation, because you cannot perform an emergency stop without risking dislodging the artery plug or opening the veins which were just allowed to clot. So I had to ask friends to take me to and from the hospital. Certainly I did not feel up to driving the day after the procedure and just went back to bed when I got home. The DVLA says 48 hours apparently.
Well it wasn't a smart mov e for me to drive. My neighbor drove me to urgent care this morning, where they changed my dressing and said everything looked good. I've been home and on my couch since!
Keep resting ans allow your self to heal. Best wishes
Best thing to do. Take care and good luck
