Hi all. Been reading about the 2 above supplements. Supposed to be beneficial for af sufferers. Anyone take them and do they work ? Tempted to try some.
Taurine & arginine : Hi all. Been... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Taurine & arginine
Did nothing for my AF burden but everyone is different
COQ10 however helped energy levels. 100mg daily.
My Naturopath said he puts his AF patients on just a Mg compound (see below contains taurine and arginine) and CoQ10. I have been taking them for 8 yrs, the former now only half the daily dose. I have had no AF but that might be at least in part due to the Flecainide I take and the altered lifestyle choices I have made. Definitely worth a try, check first with your medics but don't be put off by raised eyebrows or possible comments about wasting money. AF in most cases is caused by many things and stopping it is likely to need many different actions.
I have tried Taurine and didn't get any change. Magnesium and Ubiquinol (CoQ10) are my saviours.
I have seen someone promoting these on an American FB site. When I looked the "study" they quoted from was a) very old and b) not a study at all, but a hypothesis paper. If you search on the Internet, you will easily find the paper and on it you will be able to read about the risks of high doses of arginine.
I'm reluctant to try unproven medicines that my doctor doesn't recommend in case they have untoward effects on my heart. These things aren't "natural", after all, but chemicals.

Another vote for Q10 Ubinquinol and high potency Magnesium Taurate
I'm about to give them a try. I already take CoQ10 (high dose) and magnesium taurate which have both been extremely helpful
I buy Lindt dark chocolate 90%.I have a square most days and it’s definitely helped.
My twin (75yrs) does likewise and he swears it’s stopped a lot of his ectopic beats. Worth a try and very tasty! 😁
Dr. Stephen Sinatra recommends heart supplements that include Taurine, Coq-10, Magnesium glycinate, Propionyl L Carnitine, and more. Also referenced by Steve Ryan website A-fib.com
I am unsure about Taurine directly - I have controlled my a-fib episodes well recently with dietary changes and I recently added Magnesium Taurate to my supplements (which is magnesium and taurine combined), in which I have one 200mg in the morning, and one in the evening and it feels it is lowering the amount of ectopics I get.
My cats treats have taurine in. Supposed to be good for their little hearts so may have a munch on a couple. 🤔
I have been taking Magnesium Taurate combo, Co-Q 10 with Acetyl L-Carnitine, and Wild Alaskan fish oil. I have been Afib free for over 1 year. I personally feel these supplements have helped me.
