After having to change consultants and area, I now have a date to go in and have a pacemaker fitted - 10th March. Although I am understandably nervous about it I know after having two ablations that didn't work, it is the right thing for me to do. I have also been heartened by the positive messages that kind people have posted on this site after having the pace and ablate procedure - so thank you everyone. I'll let you know how it goes.

Hello Gloria, so glad that you’ve got a date. As you may have read previously I had my Pacemaker on 30th June last year but due to Covid delays didn’t get my AV node ablation until 21st December. I had Covid a month ago and was quite unwell despite being triple jabbed and I honestly dread to think what would have happened without my op . At my recent PM check up it showed my heart had coped perfect,y. My life has changed for the better and I wish you luck with yours. Lynne x
Thank you so much Lynne and its great news that your heart has coped so well with having covid. I am so looking forward to getting my life back. I'll keep you posted! Best wishes Gloria x
Good luck from me as well. Do you know which PM you are having? The PM on it’s own worked so well for me that I cancelled the AV node Ablation and no regrets about doing either.
Thank you! In my letter it just says a CRT P duel chamber pacemaker. My latest episode of AF has lasted 15 hours and is still ongoing so I know life is going to be so much better when the pacemaker is fitted. Like you I may not even need the ablation - fingers crossed!!
Good morning. I had pace and ablate 2021 and apart from being nervous re dependant on the pacemaker, life has improved a great deal. No more breathless episodes or feeling weak and tired.
Thank you Dave. So glad your life has improved so much. It will be wonderful to get my life back and not live from day to day not knowing how I will be feeling. Gloria
