Slightly raised liver function query

Good morning from a grey cold Warwickshire!

Had the usual blood test 8 months ago which showed slightly raised liver function.

To repeat in 6 months, which I finally got round to last week.

Rang for results and nurse said fine except for slightly raised liver function again, but that Dr had seen it and marked as no action required.

However I managed to get a pre bookable phone appt next Friday to discuss.

I was thinking, what do they do if it goes higher? I can hardly stop taking Apixaban!

Does anyone have any ideas or experience please?

Are there any dietary routes to improve LFt?

Thank you for reading xx

I’m sure there won’t be much to worry about. In the unlikely event that levels go below a certain point, I believe they halve the Apixaban dose but as you know, I’m not medically trained!

I would research the several causes of this before your appointment. One test can be raised because of Apixaban and as that hasn’t increased your doctor may think all is ok. There are other parts of the test so you really need to know the details so you can rule out other reasons for mild elevation. If you research now you’ll be able to ask the right questions. Google slightly elevated liver function

I've had raised alkaline phosphatase (alk phos) levels several times and have had tests repeated but I was always reassured that it wasn't a problem. One 'good' outcome of all the testing was that osteopenia was diagnosed and Adcal tablets prescribed, then a Dexa scan. Now I'm even more careful about not falling!

If you have got your actual figures from the tests, there is lots of info online to help you prepare your questions.

I haven't got the actual figures but I will ring and ask before I talk to Dr so I can have a heads up so to speak. Thank you Finvola x

Good morning. Mine is the same. Saw it on my record last month. But doctor said no action required.

Same here Wilsond, my blood test said I had high enzymes so had a repeat 2 weeks later and the doctor said it was ok. Strange.
