Can anyone recommend a company who will provide cover for travel.
I have had one ablation which was unsuccessful and am waiting on another procedure.
Not going until later on in the year
( hopefully) so plenty time to look into it. However always good to know others experience. We used the same company for 10 years but they no longer provide personal travel insurance.
Any recommendations would be very welcome.
Stay safe all.

Hi Maisie, if you need any help or support regarding AF, then please do not hesitate to contact our patient services team. You may find some helpful advice on the A F Association webpage regarding recommended Travel Insurance companies that offer competitive rates heartrhythmalliance.org/afa...
I was covere by saga had two cardioversion told them all drugs I was on cost me over 800£ so wasn’t cheep was away for a month so can get cover for af related probs
I think you missunderstand. Its not about AF per se it is about awaiting tests or treatment. Once fully diagnosed and under a treatment plan there is usually no problem. Insurance companies do not like the unknown.
Travelinsurance4medical covers you for most things, even when waiting for procedures but you may need to ring them. I’ve been refused on line but b en excepted when I rang - they’re owned by World First. travelinsurance4medical.co.uk/
For some months now travelinsurance4medical are not offering travel insurance quotes, instead they direct folk to an insurance compare site. We are currently with Admiral but no one really knows how good their insurers are until they need to make a claim…….
I use " cover for you" which are cheap but I have only been in Europe and am not sure i have ever been "waiting for treatment " when I used them . I think I was " controlled by drugs" pre ablation . There is a "club" so the more you use them you get money off ( allegedly). Nothing lost trying them
My wife and I have annual travel insurance provided by Nationwide, since being diagnosed with AF I have been paying a supplement to cover a known reportable condition (AF). I also have had an unsuccessful ablation and am on the waiting list for another. Hopefully we will be going on holiday soon.
I would echo what Bob said.I have been with Staysure for a few years with a lot of pre existing conditions but because I am awaiting a Cardioversion they will not cover me for ANY of my existing conditions. Please repost if you find someone.
Hello Maisie,Pre Covid we were lucky enough to travel extensively and when I developed AF my building society wouldn’t cover me for it. I shopped around and even Staysure and Saga refused. I eventually worked my way through the list on the BHF website and now know there is help as Tracy says on the AF website. I found AllClear would cover me for everything AF, pulmonary hypertension, and a few other more minor things. Yes it was at a cost but my husband was ill on an Amazon cruise and they paid without any fuss at all.
The only thing is as said in the other answers if you are awaiting tests or treatment they won’t cover the problem. Good luck.
AllClear and World First seem to be the most used. Travelinsurance4medical have insured me when no-one else would touch me, including when I was waiting for ablation and my AF was not controlled. AF was never a problem, neither were my other conditions but the older you get, the more expensive it becomes. Very hard now to get travel insurance for over 80’s.
