Has my svt returned
Hi Shaz.
We are not medically trained on the forum. I think this is something you need to speak to your doctor about. 140 bpm is to high IMO (how did you cope with 240 bpm !!!!)
It could be flutter which will need a touch up. However I think you should contact your medic and discuss this. That's my advice to you. If you ever go to 240 bpm again call 999 on the spot. I'm sure it won't but please do this. Don't worry - I doubt it will happen and you'll soon know if it does. Don't panic as I'm sure you'll be ok. Have a natter with your doctor though.
Paul
Hi Shaz, I also was ablated in 2016 for SVT. Mine would daily get into the mid 200’s range. Miserable. Post ablation I never have had it get anywhere near those high numbers again. However, look at any recent changes in your life, like new meds, new foods or new drinks that might make this happen. I am currently fighting bronchitis and took some cold meds that had pseudoephedrine that jumped my heart up to over 100 until it wore off. I have to read labels carefully to avoid triggers. My triggers are always wheat/gluten, aspartame and sucralose, too much alcohol and now I know pseudoephedrine. Hopefully you can find a trigger and avoid it to stop this from happening. As long as I avoid certain triggers I do not even take meds for heart issues as it now stays in rhythm.
Paul that's a great reply but it's not easy to speak to sa gp where I live.Im having long runs of svt as well as afib and ectopics.Going to try and get through tomorrow but won't hold my breath.Im at a loss to know who exactly the GPS are calling or seeing.Surely heart probs are important. On a couple of occasions I had to go in to the reception the people waiting to be seen were nearly always mums and kids.
Hi,I am sorry to hear that you have been worried by recent episodes. It is frightening isn’t it, as it brings back bad memories. I too had episodes where my heart hit 250bpm. I had atrial flutter and was ablated 14months ago. I had been fine until Covid a week before Christmas. Since then I have had two episodes where my heart has gone up to 160bpm - fortunately not for long (5-10minutes), but I am lucky to have a supportive doctor who has ordered an ecg and blood tests. How long are your episodes lasting for?
Sounds like it needs checking out. Maybe see if your doctor can arrange an ecg and have your bloods checked. It might be nothing that needs treating, or if it does then it will get things in motion and there are things which can be done fortunately. Wishing you well.
