Has anyone developed SVT after an ablation? I had an ablation for afib in April of this year.
5 months later, I have had two instances where my heart rate raced up to 176 or 166 for a 1-2 minutes then returned to normal. Both times I was sitting or laying down.
I have been under stress the past two days, but today I made an effort to take it easy and let things go.
Thanks

Hi! Here something I have written about a month ago, as the reply to another poster:
"I try not to comment much lately, but I reed each and every post, analyzing each and every AF case. So many people have reported about PACs, PVCs, palpitations, bradycardia and SVTs after an ablation, and it always goes away, after shorter or longer period of time. "
Thank you. But my ablation was almost 5 months ago. Zio patch showed nothing concerning 3 months after ablation. I'm scheduled for another one in two weeks so that is reassuring. EP's office says that Apple watch not accurate per se. Only Kardia
I have now read your posts after the ablation. Your symptoms seem to be pretty much in accordance with normal picture - headaches, dry mouth, SVT and similar. Just when I wanted to ask about your vaccinal status, I read your comment in one of your posts, so I give up here... Try to find in the internet what Dr Peter McCullough says about it, it may help a lot.
I thought that might be the answer. Other people have reported similar experiences - Apple Watch reporting ‘ghost’ SVT. I would ignore it as you didn’t feel anything.
I’m still experiencing short episodes of atrial tachycardia 8 months after my second ablation - they started 3 months after the ablation. I’ve had maybe 10 of these episodes each lasting 5 seconds up to a few minutes rate varying between 125 and 160bpm - usually around 130-140bpm. I’m being told by my UK (Royal Papworth - ablation actually done at Bordeaux) EP that they might well still settle down and to learn to psychologically deal - as in don’t worry about - with them, and that it’s reassuring that they convert back to NSR so quickly. I suppose my situation is much improved from being in persistent AF as I had been for 10 weeks leading up to my last ablation! My episodes always occur when bending and exerting - bending over while sawing wood is a potent trigger! I’m aware that atrial tachy is a quite common issue after ablation for AF.
I developed persistent Tachychardia after a cryoablation. I had another RF ablation to deal with this. These are usually very successful and mine lasted a year but due to an enlarged left atria and extensive scarring it has returned although not quite as resistant to medication as before. Yours may well settle down . X
Hi I got atrial tachycardia after heart op, ablation and pacemaker insertion, they said it could have been caused by pacemaker, Mine was horrible, everyday perhaps twice a day it made me feel I was going to faint, be sick and lose control of my bowels. Fortunately if I sat with my head down for a few minutes it passed, but it went on for 3 months until I had another ablation.
