I seem to have developed Oedema from my knees down to my ankles. I have not seen this mentioned on this site before, but was wondering if it could be connected to my AF ?
I have a virtual appointment with my GP at the beginning of Jan. in the meantime any replies will be greatly appreciated.
Thankyou

I had the same problem and was given Doppler tests and support socks. Since being prescribed diuretics the problem has now resolved
This can be a problem for folk who take Diltiazem (calcium channel blocker).
I have just looked at your earlier posts and you talk about high creatinine levels which relate to kidney function. If you take a DOAC anticoagulant, you should discuss this with your Doctor in January because any unwanted chemicals leave the body via the kidneys. Anyone taking DOAC’s should have at least an annual blood test to check the kidney function…..
Possibly fluid in lungs or around your heart?Usually docs. give you diuretics for this .I had Spirolactone and Furosimide together and they worked very quickly to rid my legs and ankles of fluid and also in lungs and around heart.
I had problems with fluid retention which seem to have been resolved with Spironolactone 25 mg daily and Fuorsemide 40 mg every other day. I am also on a DOAC Riveroxaban 20 mg daily and have kidney function tests every 3 months,
Hey Barney...I had puffy (to use the technical term) legs and halved my Amlodipine and double my Lisinopril. In bed, I elevate my legs on pillows which I think helps greatly. Not very much oedema now but I have a lot of discolouration and flaking skin on my right leg especially. Obviously you need medical expertise and advice. Good luck and Merry Crimbo.
I developed this problem also. I have mild heart failure and kidney problems. It got so bad I actually developed "water blisters" on my legs, and some of them became infected. But the Lasix helps a lot. I also found that drinking watermelon juice really helps as a diuretic, I drink it every day. It's delicious and works well to reduce the fluid in my body.
