There has been some discussion about a fourth jab (a second booster?) below. I haven't heard anything about this. Does anyone know if it is advised for those with AF (or any other condition) and is so what the interval is between it and the third jab?
4th jab: There has been some discussion... - Atrial Fibrillati...
4th jab
It is not a second booster, it is a third primary dose.

Third primary dose therefore negating the need for a booster in between?
Third primary dose and then a booster same as everyone else.
I don't know if there will be more boosters in future.
So what exactly is the difference between a booster and a primary dose?
Nothing except what they are calling it. For those immune surpressed who haven’t developed antibodies it’s a primary dose - for everyone else it’s a booster.
From what I heard on the radio this morning, these are for people with immune system issues etc. Some have had three doses because they needed them, but the third has been mislabelled as a booster. This is stopping them getting the booster now that they should be getting - which given their health status is very concerning.
That’s certainly not my experience but I know there has been confusion.
If you are immune suppressed, as I am, it’s your specialist who decides how many vaccines and which ones may help you and that all depends upon your conditions and the meds you are on evidently.
I have a friend who has already had 4 shots and not one of them or all collectively have enabled her to produce antibodies - we are tested or at least should be.
I produced no antibodies after 2 shots, some antibodies after COVID and my count has increased after 3rd shot but as I just had 3rd shot the 4th shot won’t be until late Feb/March.
GIve them a chance. They still have to get all the third shots out yet. Our local centre are open to walk in till midnight!
Following my visit to GP - this is what was said:
If is thought you will require a 4th jab 12 weeks following your 3rd (Booster) jab it will be arranged through secondary care ie: everyone who takes immune suppressants will have a specialist consultant and so the booster jabs will be organised through consultant clinics.
Not everyone on immune suppressants will be offered a 4th jab, that will be your consultant’s decision and not the GP.
GPs are very grateful that they don’t have to organise them!
So contact your specialist, not your GP.
The fourth vaccination is for people with a suppressed immune system. My next door neighbour has just finished chemo after a mastectomy but hasn't been notified that she will be eligible for a fourth vaccination. I was clinically extremely venerable (CEV) until the end of March (pulmonary toxicity damaged my lungs) and I haven't been notified either. Therefore you will need to have a serious medical condition. I have had my third vaccination by age and past CEV. I do not expect to be offered a fourth.
I've had a text today saying in accordance with Government guidelines, its recommending I have 3 primary vacs and a booster.
Only 2wks ago I was texted to book my booster, which I've since had, after my 2 primary vacs.
I assume someone has since noted that I've had a breast cancer lumpectomy and a 5 days of radiotherapy during summer this year.
AF or its treatment doesn't cause immunosuppression.
