When next booster? ? Months?

Just wondering , has anyone heard on the GV šŸ‡. For those in early (3rd shot) booster groups, when or how many months until next booster or vaccination. (Itā€™s 3 months on 30 th Dec since I had booster. ) I wondered if a plan for elderly and vulnerable to have a follow up (4 th) or how long the booster gives protection for? Originally 6 months until booster, then 5 now 3 months for those having boosters now. I saw on TV spokesperson for a vulnerable group of immunosuppressed suggested /mentioned a 4 th (booster). My great G P has heard nothing .

So much various info .

Govts plan is to get ā€˜everybodyā€™ boosted by 31 st Dec , read in Google news , suggestions of Vacc centres going 24/7 ?

* Various sources on Google News , and TV Please donā€™t take as Bible.

Hi , I asked my Haematology Professor specialist , as I have APS which is immune platelet disease) if it is in the immune ā€˜compromisedā€™ category , along with immune surpressed. She rang and explained - NO , only certain patients, . I m not a professional , she did not say which conditions qualify , she did say if transplant suppression drugs . Itā€™s the NHS algorithm that chooses. My G P Surgery knee no more than algorithm chooses . Sorry if not much more help . I did see an interview with a Spokesperson for a immunosuppressed online group, say exactly as the screenshot says. 3 PRIMARY SHOTS PLUS 1 BOOSTER (4 th) . G P S follow the algorithm and hospital Clinic Specialists . G P s can query to Specialists . Faster for one to call the P A or secretary of oneā€™s named Specialist. / Team , through hospital switchboard . Email / call leave message . If no reply repeat repeat .

I took this screenshot to send to a family member whilst booking my booster on Monday through the NHS system. The second paragraph mentions the additional booster dose that should be given to those who have had a third dose.

My family member was also surprised to hear that they should be expecting to receive another dose, but contacted their GP who confirmed that they would be offered it 12 weeks after the 3rd dose.

I fall into both categories - elderly and immune suppressed. My understanding is no one knows nothinā€™ until the PM announces it on the TV at press conferences. Then everyone scrambles to try implement the imperative, knowing they have been set up to fail for lack of forethought and planning.

Iā€™m seeing my GP later today, Iā€™ll ask. It may also be individual as I have been tested 4 times now for developing antibodies and it was only after I recovered from COVID I developed any antibodies. I was told 3rd vaccine should boost that defence. We shall seeā€¦..

I haven't heard anything about a fourth vaccination (second booster). What is the source for this information? Neither the government nor the NHS have said anything to the best of my knowledge,

see the screenshot on this thread . Presume itā€™s NHS? Above G P quoted . I saw Spokesperson Immunosuppressed Society or online Group say exactly the same re 3 primaryā€™s 1 booster . P M would not announce this itā€™s specific to truly immunosuppressed category , have to assume they are in the algorithm category to receive the alerts invites. If on the anti rejection transplant drugs , assume from this thread Thr Specialist and G P can make this call. How it translates to algorithm . Thatā€™s a mystery . Good luck everybody . šŸ™šŸ»

One of my friends who has a lung condition and classified herself as clinically vulnerable at the start of the pandemic had her 3rd jab some time ago and her booster within the last week. She had some difficulty in finding out if the so-called 3rd jab was the booster or whether she still needed a booster. As ever, there is no very clear advice.

I was under assumption from reading , sorry I donā€™t have this source as ā€˜so much ā€˜ info last week, that for Pfizer booster was a smaller dose . That with Moderna - half a dose.? A Zeneca ?? I must go on NHS App read my 3 Vaccinations to see if descriptions of Primary or booster . Has Anybody read it in the NHS app ? I believe there was dose on first two on little cards They have ? Investigating further šŸ„ø

Us oldies and vulnerables, not immunosuppressed. Different again, had boosters end of September , almost 3 months ago. Wondering when our next jab is.Another booster or an a 6 monthly. Wondering what the follow plan is? How long is protection of booster.

Just like FLU injections because it is a Virus no more jabs until a year later I guess. One guy here NZ had 10 jabs to be paid by non vaccinators! Stupid or What. JOY

Depends when a new variant emerges. If before 1 year. Annual too long . He was paid 10 times to get peoples jabs fraudulently. . People do anything for money . Wonā€™t hurt him tooMuch .

Following my visit to GP - this is what was said:

If is thought you will require a 4th jab 12 weeks following your 3rd (Booster) jab it will be arranged through secondary care ie: everyone who takes immune suppressants will have a specialist consultant and so the booster jabs will be organised through consultant clinics.

Not everyone on immune suppressants will be offered a 4th jab, that will be your consultantā€™s decision and not the GP.

GPs are very grateful that they donā€™t have to organise them!

So contact your specialist, not your GP.

In UK . Thank you. Itā€™s basically what my G P surgery said and Specialist Consultant . I am wondering when the next vaccination for us oldies who had our booster late September early October will be due next vacc shot. How long between e g how many months protection before waning is the booster?

I think because the goalposts are constantly moving with the variants no one really knows. Plus the emphasis seems squarely on delivering the governmentsā€™ imperative of 1million booster shots by the end of the month. This has not been thought through well!

Yes. Depending on how long boosters give protection for. If 3/6/ months . Will need to go again in January . Guess it will be timed to emergence of new variants . Annually? As per flu The tweaking for the new variants will need timing .

Hi :-) my GP was well organised and I had my booster in early October . The question about those who had an early booster (including of course health workers) was raised on the radio this morning and how long the boosters would last taking into consideration the new variant.

Apparently this subject is being looked at as a matter of urgency.

Thank you really , thatā€™s reassuring . I have researched APS and ā€˜itā€™ . We APS and AIIRDS people , do need total overlap on our vacc boosters.,to be extra cautious and shield in surges. My Specialist Professor Told me me/APS Patient not in the NHS Algorithm severely ā€˜immunosuppressed ā€˜ category . ; ( the decider on Vacc invitations ) She emphasised to take my Xarelto ā€˜every day, same time, along with my 5 mg statinā€™ , and it is a good med to be on in present situation. ( I look for the positive always.). Grateful for that) However , It is an AIIRD disease. ( google that) . I have asked my own G P and Professor considering APS is what it is, is there any change in category , ( 70 years) since 2020 . Answer : No . ( I am not a prof medical anything) I Do do own research, I trust my Specialist . Yes absolutely . LovešŸ’™ NHS; Do I agree 100 % ? No , not always, as I accept that most common categories ( e g severely immunosuppressed ) should be considered firstly. As one of the more rare conditions , I would feel more reassured if other AIIRDS ( e g APS) would have own category , ( Immunosuppressed and be included in the algorithm going fwd. This would be in preparedness if the NHS categories for early vaccinations, or essential vaccination changes . I am very grateful for the existence of this global forum and the support it gives . Does anyone have any opinion of this; my reply point? Very very welcome . I love to be educated . I realise this may only apply to certain countries ; on here , due individual health care systems. The main point is international of course šŸ™šŸ»šŸ™šŸ»šŸ™šŸ»
