After a meet up with cardiologist, I was advised to stop the bisoprolol 1,25mg which I take daily. The reason I did a meet up is my daily anxiety, bradycardia (40s in rest) and dizziness. I need to continue with propafenone (anti arrhythmic) and currently waiting for an ablation date. My blood pressure is good constantly, 115/70 or a bit lower.
My question is, if I experience whitdrawl from stopping bis, what should I expect and how long will it take to subside? I know it's different for everyone, just wanted to hear some experiences.
The main outcome I crave is for my daily chest anxiety and dizziness to stop which I can read all over the internet can be a common side effect of bisoprolol. I've been on it for 2 and a half months.

When I stopped because of bradycardia and fatigue, it was a higher dose, within 48 hours I was a new woman. Hopefully you will feel the same.( only hopefully you'll be a new man not woman!)
Well, this morning was the first day I didn't take bisoprolol and I can already see the change. I regularly measure my blood pressure & bpms and I can see that my resting heart rate is now 60-70 which was never the case in the last few months since I'm on meds. It was always 45-55.
Blood pressure is still in the normal, around 117/74.
Yeah, hopefully everything stays ok. Today is my second day off bis and for now my bp is normal and resting HR around 55-70. Bp was normal (117/70) in resting all day yesterday also. I did read it takes few days to see the effect of coming off bisoprolol, but since my dosage was 1,25mg I hope I don't get some serious withdrawal.
Yes, that's a micro dose. But you're obviously very sensitive to it (I am sensitive to all pharma so I know how that feels) so you might still experience changes. Your story has helped me realise how Bisoprolol affected me in the early days of AF. I never realised till later that it didn't suit me.
I was on 1.25 and stopped one day and took verapimil the next.Couldnt tolerate any beta blockers at all.Got puffed just walking to the kitchen and a heavy feeling on my chest.Verapimil no probs at all.Best wishes.
I can only speak from personal exerience. 1.25mg is a low dose - I was on higher than that and was told by my cardio just to stop. I had no problems at all.
From memory, I was put on flec. It's some time ago but I think I'm right. I had no problems with coming off bisoprolol though. Like you, I was anxious about just stopping. There was no need and you'll find the same - don't worry as I think you'll be just fine 👍
If you do get any withdrawal symptoms then you can wean off by cutting the tablet in half and staying on that dose for a fortnight then going to every other day for a fortnjght. Hopefully you will not need to.
Well, day 4 of no bisoprolol and my blood pressure jumps around today afternoon somewhat. In the last hour I took around 10 measures in resting (sitting) and it varies from 127 to 140. One meassure was even 154 but I think it was because of me going from couch to kitchen tablr and not waiting enough to settle down before meassure. Diastolic didn't went over 80 not once.
Well I'm kinda disapointed since I felt I will manage to get of it with no rebound. The question is, is it only a rebound from quitting bis and I should wait a day or two to see how it goes or maybe it's a sig to go back on bis.
I don't have a problem to go back on it if it means putting my bp back in normal again and having some issues with side effects (diziness, low bpms). I just want to know if I could wait few days. I can't discuss this with anybody before monday anyway.
Just need to put out fresh thoughts. Maybe some advice?
