Thought I would point you all to the video by Sanjay Gupta the York Cardiologist on facebook which says that small studies re Vit C on A/F is very effective. Have a look at it and make up your own minds.

The video has been posted several times on this forum.

My comments are - if you read the transcript - what Dr Gupta is doing asking if it deserves more investigation. As far as I could gather the main evidence came from a trial showing that IV VitC was helpful in preventing post operative AF. Very different to treating AF.

I personally take 1000mg of VitC daily along with lots of foods rich in antioxidants and have done for years but not had the slightest difference to AF episodes that I could determine.

Problem is that I find if I take something for ages how do I know if without it I would be worse off? I don’t want to take the chance so I carry on taking it.

Vit C is water soluble, so you will 'wee' out any you do not need. Some experts state that the only thing you achieve by taking large amounts of Vit is to make the manufacturers rich!

I have taken 1000mg Vit C for 2/3 years; initially a standard super absorbable liquid and then I consulted technical at Lamberts, who told me their 1000mg pill was slow release as otherwise the body gets too much at one go and ditches the surplus! Didn't research this but sounded reliable advice.

I like Lamberts, they have good info.
