Had cardioversion today it worked, got to have E C G in a month, is there any way of telling with my heart is sill in  siynus rhythm or back in A F, with out having E C G,  Since been on Amiodrone heart lot calmer . Don't  want to wait a month to find out, Tried taking pulse but can't tell. Thanks

Taking your pulse by hand should work. If not then an AliveCor or Microlife WatchBPHome will tell.

If your pulse is regular you are fine. Alternatively if you feel fine then be happy . Wprry won't help at all.

I had two cardio versions both times I reverted to sinus rythm 

Both times I didn't feel any different as I didn't know I was in AF I thought my breathing issues were asthma related 

But I knew when I went back into AF a few days later ( both occasions) just felt odd

,stuck in AF and feel naff now and then

I find it is much easier to feel my pulse when I'm in NSR.  The way I tell is to lie down on my left side and put my hand on my heart - I can then feel (and often hear) the rhythm. If it is nice and regular (thump, thump, thump) then it is NSR.  Conversely, if it is irregular (thumpity, thumpity, thump, thump) then you may be in AF.  Sorry if this is overly technical!

Not overly technical.  Never thought of just feeling my heart.  Have always used pulse.  Thanks for the thought.

Try taking your pulse in your neck,just feel around your collar bone until you get the beat!

Annkw is right. I can easily find my carotid pulse, using my right index finger, half way down my neck and to the left of my oesophagus. It's harder to find if you're fibrillating.

I bought a blood pressure monitor to keep a regular check on myself and, whilst it's taking the pressure, it also shows the beats of my heart very clearly.  I can see the irregularity and I'm given a heart rate reading as-well-as a blood pressure reading.  It's very difficult to take a pulse from your wrist when you're in AF.  As Annekw mentions, it's quite easy to get one from the pulse in your neck.

I bought a blood pressure machine from boots and it tells me if i am in af or not as well. It is boots own make and has been very useful. It takes bp pulse and then a symbol comes on the screen if the heart beat is irregular

You can bûy a good one at Walmart.  Any model that has diagram is fine!

I bought mine from Boots, too.   It is a Blood Pressure arm monitor and you can buy them in good chemist shops, besides Boots.  All you have to remember is to get one that's Clinically Validated ie;  it's good quality and provides accurate readings.

I found an app on my android Samsung phone that 

Can measure you're heart rate 

It's called photo a fib recorder.. 

It's free and seems very accurate..don't know if you can get it on Apple .. But you probably can..

You stick  you're finger on the camera lens, and it detects you're pulse and heart rhythms for a minute .you can also save them to compare .

I surprised that you cannot take your own pulse at your wrist. My wife's mother is in permanent AF and it is clear when taking her pulse at the wrist. NSR is regular and AF is not.

My hubby is in persistent af bought a finger tip pulse oximeter with a waveform display (he's a scientist so likes graphs).  He found it useful.  He had CV yesterday and is in NSR for a while I hope.  The item was bought on ebay and is as follows:
