Went to A&E with crazy heart beats and now I’m being told I might have angina , I’m so confused not to mention terrified, I can’t get anywhere with a diagnosis or treatment and don’t know which way to turn , sorry just needed to tell someone and don’t want to frighten my kids x

Is this the first time it’s happened to you?

No been in and out of hospital since April, I’ve had all sorts of tests etc in booked for phone appointment on 23 nov with pain clinic , but this is so bad and frequent, to the extent I fainted on Saturday, I don’t know if I’m coming or going Sorry if I sound like an hysterical nut , I’m not I’m really down to earth but not knowing is driving me crazy which probably isn’t helping the heart

You know stress and anxiety plays havoc with the heart, now you say this is been going on since April what digonsis have you had so far? You said possible angina? There could be many reasons why you fainted what necessary mean it’s heart related

I know it could have been sugar levels etc which also makes heartbeat crazy , it’s really weird that for no apparent reason it goes away for two weeks and out of the blue I’m getting double heartbeats and feeling really strange , I’m not constantly checking my heart rate etc it just comes from nowhere and yesterday it was four hours before it settled down , which is why I went to a&e , usually it’s a few minutes blip Just to put this in proportion April this year I was blues and two to hospital with the pads on my chest for resuscitation and a week on cardiology ward, they first said I was bi Gemini, then AF , then yesterday different again .

In between then and now I’ve had several overnights in hospital.

I’m all for self help etc , I’ve sorted my diet, dropping a stone and 1 more to go and tried to up my exercise

Well the diet and exercise can only help just make sure you don’t push yourself on the exercise maybe just get your cardiologist advice on what exercise you can do as they are still trying to give you a proper diagnosis

The very simple answer is to be given a GTN spray to go under your tongue when the pain comes. If you have angina it will take the pain away. If it doen't then you don't have angina. What I do know form experience is that oesophageal smasm mimics angina and it far more likely especially if you are stressed. #

Long term you need to have an angiogram to check the cardiac arteries for any blockages or narrowing as this will confirm or deny any diagnosis. Try not to second guess things.

Odd thing is I don’t get pain just a pressure like someone leaning on me and a sinking felling like I’m unplugged from my power source, feeling really unwell.I’ve had a sonogram so far and I’ve got two appointments next week so hopefully one of them can decide what’s going on , thanks for your help

I'm sorry to hear that you have this worry Hazel. I'm sure that when you were in hospital they would have tested your blood to see if it was a heart attack and it sounds like it wasn't. Why not copy your post and put it on the British Heart Forum on Health Unlocked. The members there may be able to advise you.
