Angina

Why is is that when I have an angina attack I am burping all the time. I am very stressed out at the moment and not sleeping and find I seem to be having more angina symptoms.

How do you know that it is angina? Oesophageal spasm can mimic such pain as I well know which sounds much more likely if you have digestive problems. I suggest that you speak to your doctor quite soon.

Hi BobThankyou for reply, I was told years ago

That I had AF and angina and given a spray to use. I also have high blood pressure . I have never heard about oesophageal spasms, but have IBS and problems with my stomach so I am now wondering if that could be part of the problem.

CAD is life threatening disease. If you feel you need to go ER or A&E then please do so. In case of doubt just go. Never underestimate this disease. No guess here with dr. Google.

Bob, please talk to me more about the oestopheagal spasms. I self-diagnosed the first time I woke up at 3 am with chest pain and throat pain that subsided after about 5 minutes before I was finished dressing to drive to a nearby hospital. Second time I did go and see my doctor the next day but there were no indications of heart trauma. So what I want to know is how was this diagnosed for you?? O yes, I don't have digestive issues.

After several weeks of investigation for on-going chest pain a few years ago this is what the doctors decided.

OK, ongoing chest pain is not what I have. But when these ‘cramps’ occur they are quite scary. ☹️

By ongoing I did not mean constant but periodic over a long period.(two months)

Is there any treatment? Or does one learn to live with it?

It passed eventually aided no doubt by life style changes (less meat eating) . These days it may rumble if I eat meat too many days in a row.

I suspect that the diaphragm is easily upset by anything “cardiac” and this affects the left side nerves and chest muscles as well as the gastric system.

I would agree with this. The ONLY symptoms I had when I had a heart attack was horrific indigestion/heartburn for 3 days then on day 3 a slight tingling in left arm and up neck. When I was taken to A&E the nurse who triaged me completely ignored the indigestion and I was left for 5 hours on a corridor because they expected me to grey, sweating and clutching my chest in pain. The poster should get it checked out.

Our friend had exactly that at Christmas and, as I have, she, too, has a hiatus hernia which she'd come to blame it on. My she was lucky and the NHS was at its best with her, too.
