I think that is how long is a piece of string. It can vary greatly by area and hospital and at this present confused time things are spread out a fair bit. Why not speak to your EP team and offer yourself for any short term cancellations but be aware this could mean a days notice.

Thanks, what is an EP team? I would take a short notice but they don't do ablations in my county Shropshire. Are Ablations under local anesthetic cheaper ?I feel i have no other option but to go private. The Amiodarone i am on is not suiting me at all.

EP= Electrophysiologist a cardiologist who specialise in Arrhythmias ie electrical problems in the heart. In other words the electrician to the ordinary cardiolgists plumber. If you are waiting who are you waiting for?

Amiodarone worked for me and had my third ablation cancelled due to the good it had done, but I didn't like the eye side affect, I was changed to Dronedarone so much better for me and after 8 months and 6 blood tests all good.

Chase it up, for sure. I once discovered that, though on a waiting list, I had no been "activated" (whatever that meant) and so was effectively being ignored.Polite, friendly but firm works well as the poor people who tend the waiting lists get loads of stick!

Me to.

Hospitals are being asked to stop non critical Operations, up to the doctors if they choose to list people as non critical. Fingers crossed it happens soon for you. Make sure you remind them of the impact it is having on your day to day life.
