Flecainide and blood tests

Does anyone have regular blood tests whilst taking Flecainide long term ? Just wondering if there any specific tests that I should have with my annual blood tests. Thanks

I never had any tests done but I know some people have.Flecainide can build up in your blood and can cause problems such as prolonged QT interval. This can cause dangerous arrhythmia such as VT.

I happened to notice that my QTc was longer than maximum on a recent ECG.

I asked my GP to stop my Sertraline and the QTc returned to normal again. I could not stop the Flecainide but Sertraline also prolongs QTc.

I must add that not many GP's know this and it may take some convincing before they check for Flecainide buildup.

I am having 'the usual annual bloods' that GPs sanction for older patients next week which will include liver & kidney.

Yes, I have annual blood test because of the Flecainide. Surgery automatically did it and I didn’t have to ask. x

I've been on flecainide for 13yrs and have annual blood tests but always have to ask for them, so you need to be on the ball and keep track of when they're done as a year can go so quickly now!

Before apixaban added to replace warfarin I had to ask for annual ECG and bloods. Now get annual bloods for apixaban including LFTs and renal function

Many thanks - do not normally have renal function so will ask for that this time as well.
